Premier Exhibitions: Good Business, Good Buy [view article]
"Premier Exhibitions is estimated to earn $0.45 per share in the current fiscal year ending Feb 28th, 2009 and grow earnings 21.25% per year over the next 5 years."WHAT!?!?!? I wish that were true. But the Yahoo mean estimate is .14, not .45. E*Trade has .06 as the consensus. If PRXI did [and it will not] grow at 21.25%, that would make it worth $1.75.
Disclosure: long lots of PRXI and hoping I'm wrong. Reply

Sellars I believe now owns 15% of the company and has asked for 2 board seats. See his latest SEC filing. ReplyPremier Exhibitions: The Controversy Continues [view article]
Shareholder activism is very positive for this company's shareholders. Given the past earnings as a percent of assets, the franchise of this company is indeed a valuable asset, but management has gone overboard on growth plans and has destroyed the profit margins by paying themselves way too much compensation. As a recent shareholder, without shareholder activism at this point, I'm afraid the current management has the potential to continue to destroy shareholder value with both exessive pay and risky growth.
I commend Odyssey for their letter to the board and I would back their efforts. Marc Sellers added position shows his confidence. I too added shares for my clients in this recent pullback.
I would not have any problems with the sale of PRXI in the range of what I think the company is worth, around $7 - $8 a share. Reply

It would be nice if someone can dissect the potential value that the Titanic artifacts include in the Premier valuation. Both Mark Sellers and James Altucher (FT Wealth Reporters, Mr. Sellers has stopped writing since Spring,2008) have talked positively on this stock when the price was around $15. The stock is worth almost 1/5'th of what it used to be. Based on the quality of reporting from the referenced experts I feel confident that they know something that the markets doesnt understand. It would be great to hear from Mr Sellers as we the FT readers really miss his Sunday wealth column. Thanks,

China I believe. Growth can come with leveraging off their existing exhibitions just as they've been doing. They certainly have the funds to do so. ReplyPremier Exhibitions: Good Business, Good Buy [view article]
Sounds good...perfect textbook DCF example..right up until you try to figure out how they are going to grow earnings by 21% per year over the next five years. ReplyPremier Exhibitions: Good Business, Good Buy [view article]

Did you just say, 'I don't like what they do' and follow it with, 'but oh my look what they have!'??? Isn't this like saying 'He's bad because he sells drugs, but he sure does have neat toys!" Replyedneck

Two other questions on JOE: is the Panama City airport plan moving along as originally envisioned? That seems to be a critical component to helping them realize max value on their land holdings over a 10 year horizon.Second question: Now that JOE is restructuring to move to a pure equity capital structure, do you expect them to remove pressure to create consistent cashflows via land sales of timberland assets regardless of market conditions? Without the need to create cashflow to cover interest payments, you would think they would pull back on that.
Thanks,

Who is Clyde Milton? Deep value sleuth extraordinaire? PT Barnum like promoter of companies with questionable ethics? Mythical Ayn Rand concoction who is the saviour of the investment world? Who is Clyde Milton?Seriously, well balanced primer on PRXI. Will do more research on this. Nice call on JOE, by the way. Do you know if Einhorn covered his "swamp-land" short, or did he ride it all the way back up to the mid-40's from the mid-20's? What is the implied EV per acre on Joe now? I like their recent moves to go to a pure land trust holding company and stop with all the expensive proprietary development, but it appears to be fair value territory at the moment.
Cheers
