PSP vs. ETF Alternatives

PSP Description

The PowerShares Global Listed Private Equity Portfolio (Fund) is based on the Global Listed Private Equity Index (Index). The Fund will normally invest at least 90% of its total assets in securities, which may include ADRs and GDRs, that comprise the Index. The Index includes between 40 and 60 publicly listed private equity companies, including business development companies and other financial institutions or vehicles whose principal business is to invest in and lend capital to privately held companies. The Index is rebalanced and reconstituted quarterly.

Thursday, February 28, 6:04 PM ProShares launched Global Listed Private Equity PEX today, which it says is the first globally diversified ETF focused on companies that invest primarily in private enterprises. It comes with an expense ratio of 2.54%, higher than the competing fund PSP (2.34%). Comment!
Tuesday, June 26, 2012, 3:12 AM KKR (KKR) has gathered around $4B to invest in infrastructure and energy deals as the firm looks beyond corporate takeovers. Rivals Blackstone (BX) and Carlyle (CG) are also trying to look beyond leverage buyouts as attractive LBO deals remain somewhat elusive. Comment!
Thursday, January 19, 2012, 9:40 AM Defining overbought as being more than 5% above a 50-day moving average, Bespoke says 24% of tracked ETFs fit the bill. Leading the list is the homebuilders (XHB), more than 13% above its 50 day MA; Brazil (EWZ) leads the country ETFs, 8.2% above.
