- Tuesday, May 14, 8:03 PM Questcor Pharmaceuticals (QCOR +13.07%) sits idle in the post session today as the company gets its presentation at the BofA/Merrill health-care conference underway. While not likely to provide any sweeping new information, the presentation will paint a clearer picture of what lies ahead for Acthar gel in the realm of an alternative treatment for certain rheumatology-related conditions. According to Janney Montgomery spelling out the numbers of patients needing alternative treatment could what drove some shorts to cover today. Short interest on the stock stands at about 45%. Comment! [Healthcare, On the Move]
- Tuesday, April 30, 4:30 PM More on Questcor Pharmaceuticals (QCOR): Q1 misses badly on all counts, despite a 41% jump in Y/Y net sales. The company says that the quarter was negatively impacted by several transitional events, including: distribution channel disruptions due to the Medicaid rebate change, the timing of Acthar orders that were received and filled and the introduction of a new reimbursement support center. Additionally, the company experienced a reduction in the number of Acthar prescriptions to treat MS exacerbations. Shares -8.3% AH. 4 Comments [Healthcare, Earnings, On the Move]
- Tuesday, April 30, 4:18 PM Questcor Pharmaceuticals (QCOR): Q1 EPS of $0.76 misses by $0.20. Revenue of $135M (+41% Y/Y) misses by $22M. (PR). Shares -9.3% AH. 4 Comments [Healthcare, On the Move, Breaking News]
- Tuesday, February 26, 6:11 PM More on Questcor Pharmaceuticals (QCOR): Q4 beats on all counts as total revenue jumped 113% Y/Y, primarily due to expanded Acthar prescriptions in the treatment of nephrotic syndrome as well as the treatment of MS relapses and infantile spasms. Net sales also benefited from the initiation of commercial activities focused on the use of Acthar in the treatment of rheumatology-related conditions. Despite the overall better numbers, the shares are -6.6% AH. 11 Comments [Healthcare, Earnings, On the Move]

SPWR -5%. 3 Comments [On the Move] - Wednesday, January 2, 3:27 PM Shares of Questcor (QCOR -2.6%) are on the move again after UnitedHealthcare (UNH -0.1%) announces in a network bulletin that, effective April 1, 2013, the insurer will require physicians to submit for prior authorization and approval of Acthar for its plan members. 6 Comments [Healthcare, On the Move]
- Thursday, December 27, 2012, 12:23 PM Questcor (QCOR -6%) gets hit today after Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Michigan denies coverage of it's Acthar Gel for steroid-responsive conditions, saying the clinical need has not been demonstrated. Coverage will continue to be provided however, for treatment of infantile spasms, which is one of its FDA approved indications. 17 Comments [Healthcare, On the Move]

After-hours top gainers, as of 5:15 p.m.: ENPH +6%. GEO +6%. FSGI +4%. BAGL +3%. MBTF +3%.
After-hours top losers: AMRN -20%. MBLX -7%. QRE -5%. QCOR -3%. KONG -3%. 1 Comment [On the Move] - Friday, November 30, 2012, 12:30 PM More on Questcor (QCOR -6.4%): Aetna's (AET +0.3%) latest bulletin shows no change from its position first taken in September on Acthar. The insurer is still limiting reimbursement of the drug only for the treatment of infantile spasms. AET asserts that the drug's other approved uses are medically unnecessary or unproven. 2 Comments [Healthcare, On the Move]
- Friday, November 30, 2012, 9:52 AM Questcor Pharmaceuticals (QCOR -6.1%) after Mizuho starts the stock off with a Neutral rating and $28 price target. There's also word Aetna is fixing to slash more coverage of Questcor's Acthar. 6 Comments [Healthcare, On the Move]
- Friday, November 2, 2012, 12:52 PM Cerium Pharmaceuticals Synacthen, a treatment for infantile spasms, is no threat to Questcor's (QCOR -7.3%) Acthar for a number of reasons, says PropThink's David Moskowitz. First, the drug is known to contain benzyl alcohol which has been implicated in infant toxicity, and FDA approval for a product containing this ingredient in infants is highly unlikely. Second, QCOR's Acthar Gel already has Orphan Drug status with an exclusivity for infantile spasms that doesn't expire until 2017. Lastly, infantile spasms represent only a small fraction of Acthar sales, so it would have minimal impact. 1 Comment [Healthcare, On the Move]
- Friday, November 2, 2012, 12:39 PM Questcor's (QCOR -7.3%) early drubbing was apparently due to a mistaken headline stating that a synthetic version of Acthar had been approved by the FDA, rather than the Orphan Drug Designation it had actually been given, according to a Seeking Alpha contributor. The errant headline has since been pulled and refiled to reflect the correction, but the hangover in the shares continues in mid-day trading nontheless. 6 Comments [Healthcare, On the Move]
- Friday, November 2, 2012, 12:04 PM Questcor Pharmaceuticals (QCOR -7.3%) takes a hit today on reports that Cerium Pharmaceuticals has been granted an FDA orphan drug designation for Synacthen Depot, a synthetic equivalent of Acthar. 21 Comments [Healthcare, On the Move]
- Friday, October 19, 2012, 1:44 PM Insurers are taking an even more cautious stance on Questcor's (QCOR -4.1%) Acthar, according to a Citron Research report. The short seller is now claiming that Humana (HUM -1.5%) has issued a new Commercial Preauthorization document containing a new, specifically asterisked preauthorization for reimbursement for Acthar, which it contends is part of a pattern of insurers taking a more restrictive stance on authorization policy with regard to the drug's reimbursement. 40 Comments [Healthcare, On the Move]
- Tuesday, October 16, 2012, 10:24 AM Shares of Questcor (QCOR +6.7% are rallying this morning after James Flynn of Deerfield Management reported a 5.82% passive stake in the company late yesterday. 3 Comments [Healthcare, On the Move]
- Tuesday, October 9, 2012, 1:28 PM Heavily-shorted Questcor (QCOR +6.1%) surges after receiving more positive sell-side commentary (previous), this time from Jefferies, which is upgrading shares to Buy. Analyst Biren Amin believes investors are pricing Questcor as if almost no insurers will provide coverage for its Acthar gel for treating nephrotic syndrome or MS, something he considers unrealistic. 1 Comment [Healthcare, On the Move, Quick Ideas]

PeterScriabin: you go to QCOR YMB (Yahoo Message Board) search on above terms, look for mikeylikesit33_99 posts = Michael Fuller. I did say "rumors" above. -
PeterScriabin: If we're talking $QCOR, have to assume we understand basics. Suggest reading posts of Maxdad, PharmaMan58, mikey. Way better YMB than most.
