[On the Move] - Tuesday, April 3, 2012, 1:58 PM Qihoo 360 (QIHU -5.4%) falls again due to a web site taking a critical look at its finances. Only this time, the source isn't Citron Research, but Forbes' Richard Pearson, who expects auditor Deloitte to conduct a demanding review of Qihoo's books in 2012, and whose research raises serious questions about Qihoo's ad sales efforts. Qihoo, whose shares could also be affected by the release of a rival browser, is once again denying the allegations. Comment! [Tech, On the Move, Quick Ideas]
- Friday, March 16, 2012, 1:58 PM Qihoo 360 (QIHU -0.2%) was off in early trading, but has since rebounded, following a new report from frequent critic (I, II, III) Citron Research. Citron points out the head of Qihoo's audit committee is also a director for Boshiwa, a Chinese apparel maker mired in an accounting scandal, and documents a history of activity from Qihoo founder Hongyi Zhou it considers to be unethical or fraudulent. Comment! [Tech, Quick Ideas]
- Monday, March 5, 2012, 1:41 PM Citron Research target Qihoo 360 (QIHU -2.1%) moves lower after TechNode's Ben Chiang points out Baidu (BIDU) has "stealthily released a multipurpose media player." Chiang considers the product a potential threat to Chinese video aggregation products from Qihoo and Youku.com (YOKU), thanks to its integration of Baidu's search technology. Comment! [Tech, On the Move]

- Wednesday, December 7, 2011, 3:43 PM Citron Research isn't taking a breather in its attack (I, II, III) on Qihoo 360 (QIHU -2.6%). Its latest note is titled "Qihoo 360 is Committing Fraud - Plain and Simple," and features a point-by-point refutation of recent comments made by CFO Alex Xu that defend the legitimacy of his company's ad sales figures. Comment! [Tech, Quick Ideas, On the Move]
- Wednesday, December 7, 2011, 10:21 AM The back-and-forth between Citron Research and Qihoo 360 Technology (QIHU -1.4%) looks to elevate with a planned appearance on CNBC Asia Squawk Box planned for later today. Unlike other Citron targets of financial abuses, shares of QIHU have held up since the initial report was launched. Comment! [Global & FX]
- Tuesday, December 6, 2011, 3:44 PM Qihoo 360 Technology (QIHU +3.3%) gains after releasing an official statement to address recent allegations against the company by Citron Research. The company says the Citron report "contains numerous errors of fact and misleading speculations," and asserts that it has a "very unique business model" which is not comparable to the business models of other companies in China or globally. Comment! [Global & FX, Tech, On the Move]
- Monday, December 5, 2011, 2:55 PM Qihoo 360 (QIHU -1.3%) underperforms following additional negative commentary from Citron Research, which set a $5 PT for Qihoo shares several weeks ago. Citron questions the legitimacy of Qihoo's Q3 revenue figure, arguing its browser homepage ad sales are overstated. It also claims Mirae Asset's bullish coverage of Qihoo amounts to "professional malpractice." Comment! [Tech, On the Move, Quick Ideas]
- Monday, November 21, 2011, 3:26 PM Thanks to both the selloff in risk assets, and Focus Media's (FMCN -45.6%) dive into Muddy Waters (I, II), several Chinese tech ADRs are among the day's worst performers. Among these names are former Muddy Waters target Spreadtrum (SPRD -11.5%), and recent Citron Research target Qihoo 360 (QIHU -9.9%). Also off sharply: SINA -11.1%. YOKU -12.5%. RENN -8.2%. 1 Comment [Tech, On the Move]
