[On the Move] - Wednesday, May 1, 11:23 AM Allergan (AGN -9.4%) dives as management - on today's earnings call - has less than great progress to report on a couple of drugs in development. Regeneron (REGN +12.4%) spikes higher. 1 Comment [Healthcare, Breaking News, On the Move]
- Wednesday, May 1, 10:36 AM Goldman raises its price target on Regeneron Pharmaceuticals (REGN +3%) to $240 from $230 after a survey of 41 U.S.-based cardiologists/lipidologists shows awareness of anti-PCSK9 drugs is widespread and "physicians project to use this class of drugs in 25-50% of their patients one year after approval." Putting it all together, Goldman hikes its peak sales estimates for REGN727 (developed with Sanofi SNY) to $3.5B from $3B and says it expects the company to report Phase III data in Q3. (Previoulsly: GS reiterates Buy on REGN) Comment! [Healthcare, On the Move]
- Tuesday, April 9, 11:33 AM Regeneron (REGN +1.7%) gets a lift today as Goldman reiterates its Buy recommendation and raises its price target on the shares to $215 from $196 citing relative YTD underperformance versus the Nasdaq Biotech index and a strong Eylea launch. Comment! [Healthcare, On the Move]
- Monday, February 11, 10:15 AM Regeneron (REGN) shares zoom up 8.5% and counting after resuming trading following news that Sanofi (SNY) aims to own up to $500M of stock in the company. The French firm says it could increase its stake in Regeneron "within (the) terms" of their partnership but has no plans to buy a controlling stake. Investors don't seem to be buying that line at the moment. Comment! [Healthcare, On the Move, Top Stories, Breaking News]
- Monday, February 11, 10:01 AM More on Sanofi (SNY +2.5%) buying Regeneron (REGN) shares: Sanofi's move follows speculation last year that it was interested in acquiring Regeneron. Sanofi is already Regeneron's largest shareholder, although the companies have a standstill agreement that prevents the French firm from acquiring more than 30% of Regeneron. The companies are also partners in Zaltrap for the treatment of colon cancer. REGN's shares are due to resume trading at 10:05 ET. (PR) 1 Comment [Breaking News, Healthcare, On the Move, Top Stories]
- Tuesday, January 8, 9:39 AM Regeneron (REGN) -4.1%, although it's not obvious why. Q4 sales of Eylea, its eye treatment for wet age-related macular degeneration, were $276M. That's above estimates of $264.2M and brings the total for 2012 to $838M. Regeneron forecasts that U.S. sales will grow 50%, leading to annual revenue of $1.26B and already beating a Citigroup prediction that Eylea would generate peak annual sales of $1.1B in 2021. [On the Move] - Friday, November 16, 2012, 10:52 AM Sanofi (SNY -0.6%) and Regeneron (REGN +7.8%) report that the European Medicines Agency's CHMP has recommended granting marketing authorization for Zaltrap Injection for Intravenous Infusion in combination with FOLFIRI chemotherapy in adults with metastatic colorectal cancer. All that remains is for the European Commission to ratify the positive opinion from the CHMP to grant marketing authorization in all 27 E.U. member countries. A decision is expected in Q113. Comment! [Healthcare, On the Move, Global & FX]
- Wednesday, October 24, 2012, 1:30 PM Regeneron (REGN +5.8%) gains after blowing away Q3 estimates earlier this morning. Total revenues soared over 300% Y/Y on strong demand for Eylea, REGN's injection for the treatment of neovascular age-related macular degeneration. Sales of the drug were up 26% from 2Q. The company boost its sales estimates again for the year, and notes that Eylea should further fuel growth in 2013 following recent FDA approval for its expanded use. Comment! [Healthcare, Earnings, On the Move]
- Thursday, August 23, 2012, 3:21 PM Regeneron (REGN +3.4%) spikes higher once again today on takeover chatter involving Sanofi (SNY -1%). A spokesperson for the company declined to comment, on any takeover talks, noting that the two companies have a solid working relationship and have stated it would be advantageous to keep the relationship going as it is now, as separate companies. SNY is currently REGN's largest shareholder, with a standstill agreement in place that prevents SNY from acquiring more than 30% of REGN. Comment! [Healthcare, On the Move]

- Wednesday, July 25, 2012, 10:35 AM More on Regeneron (REGN) Q2: swings to net profit of $76.7M from loss of $62.5M last year, boosted by sales of its Eylea eye treatment, which surged 57% Q/Q to $194M.
