- Repsol has reached an agreement with the Argentinean government for compensation of its YPF expropriation amounting to $5 billion, receiving sovereign bonds.
- The company was very fast to monetize the bonds, selling it in about two weeks. Additionally, it also sold its remaining 12% stake in YPF.
- Repsol was able to receive $6.3 billion in proceeds related to its YPF stake, allowing the company to pay an extraordinary dividend of $1.37 per share.
- Taking into account both ordinary and extraordinary dividends, Repsol's dividend yield for 2014 is close to 9.5%.
