INVESTORS....This is a lousy premium as most buyouts have a 25-33% premium, and Yahoo turned down a bid with a 45% premium over their current price. Ballmer is sitting on 50 billion cash and watching it sink like a rock. What a stupid man he really is.Roche will be successful only because they already own over 50% of Genentech stock, thus controlling interest. Reply

It makes little sense to drill for oil where there is no oil.

McLies - McCain ad blames Obama for rising gas prices:First – Why aren’t the oil companys drilling where they can??
Second – Where is that 2 dollar a barrel oil – From that Iraq war – that should of paid for itself??
Third – See how easy it was to LIE to all – When greed and fear weds???
Forth – Look at your own home – See how easy it was to steal – equity from the American People???
Fifth – When you follow a LIE – sooner or latter – That LIE will shine forth – No matter how much – You try to hide that LIE with all the LIES – That will follow.
McCain would do well – To salvage his Name – and Not be written across History – With Bush and his minions – AS the some of the biggest – economical LIARS – In American History.

What analysts said BAC would have those numbers? ReplySome Bargain Stocks to Consider Buying [view article]
I own 4 of these stocks. I purchase thru their transfer agents and also reinvest all dividends thru a DRIP. Funny you should quote Buffett as these sound like Graham's selection criteria. ReplySome Bargain Stocks to Consider Buying [view article]
I seriously consider these names as "just a jumping off point".. And, I'm not sure if dividend increases are a valid reason to buy in this market anyway. Look at a chart of PPG (Which I have been following as it keeps sinking) for example. Here's a company that has recently dumped its auto glass business... But is still leveraged to auto and industry in many ways.I think that pulling up the old 'boom-bust cycle chart' and maybe looking at some of these names based on the stage that you think we might be in would be a better jumping off point.... Well.. excepting anything to do with finance or real-estate that is..

A rational approach to investing, as opposed to the general casino/roulette wheel theory of market playing that has become the American Capitalist paradigm. ReplyDividend Analysis: RPM International [view article]
We have a legal system that is in need of tort reform. When the judge decides to rule on the case (if ever), maybe the insurance companies will pay up as they should.
