- Tuesday, November 6, 2012, 6:34 PM RadioShack (RSH) has joined Staples (previous) in hosting Amazon (AMZN) delivery lockers, GeekWire observes. The site noticed there are over a dozen RadioShack locations in the San Francisco area with lockers available. San Francisco, interestingly, is also a place where eBay and Google are experimenting with same-day delivery. 6 Comments [Tech, Consumer]
- Friday, November 2, 2012, 7:56 AM The recent mix of economic news and retail sales reports sets the table for a holiday retail season that will come in better than original forecasts, according to IHS Global Insight. What to watch: While Hurricane Sandy is only an "interruption" to retailers on a strong growth track and an "excuse" for underperformers, two potential drags on Q4 retail sales could be a fiscal cliff that doesn't get resolved or a national election that is in dispute. 1 Comment [Consumer]
- Wednesday, October 31, 2012, 10:04 AM Mall-based retailers and department stores are holding up relatively well in early trading after the effect of Hurricane Sandy was lined up as a major Q4 headwind. The trick now is to figure out which retail firms can recover lost sales. Two notables exceptions to the subdued trading pattern - J.C. Penney (JCP -4.8%) and Sears (SHLD -6.5%) - had a slightly higher percentage of stores in the path of Hurricane Sandy than the average in the sector. 12 Comments [Consumer, On the Move]
- Tuesday, October 30, 2012, 10:02 AM Forecasts on the effect of Hurricane Sandy on retail sales still vary greatly, although the general consensus is that a short-term boost of emergency items will lift sales for select companies while the prolonged cleanup could dampen overall holiday sales. Analysts see the list of losers much longer than the list of winners as home repairs take up a great deal of discretionary spending. In a nutshell: Every retailer has a different Sandy-related thesis, with product and geographic mix essential to estimating Q4 numbers. 2 Comments [Consumer]
- Friday, October 26, 2012, 11:10 AM Though consumer sentiment rose to its highest level in five years, don't look for retailers to start adjusting guidance anytime soon. In an interview with CNBC yesterday, AutoNation CEO Mike Jackson gave a somewhat frank assessment of how many execs are looking toward Q4 by noting the fiscal cliff could create a standstill to spending over the last ten days of the year as the automatic cuts slated for January 1 loom larger. Even if a late deal is struck, Q4 sales could take a blow. (video) 7 Comments [Consumer, U.S. Economy]
- Thursday, October 25, 2012, 10:59 AM Best Buy collateral damage: An earnings warning from the embattled big box retailer spills over to taint shares of peers hhGregg (HGG -9.7%), Conn's (CONN -1.9%), and RadioShack (RSH -3.2%). Also trading weak on the day are office supply sellers OfficeMax (OMX -1.8%) and Office Depot (ODP -1.4%) with the notion floating around again that the combination of a strapped U.S. consumer and a competitive pricing environment for electronics doesn't bode well for profits. 1 Comment [Consumer, On the Move]
- Tuesday, October 23, 2012, 3:49 PM As expected, BofA defends its Buy rating on Radio Shack (RSH +5.2%) with the stance that the long-term outlook is still positive despite the retailer bombing with results in Q3. Execs with the company also tried to pitch the bull case on an earnings CC (transcript), but the Q&A honed in on how the company plans to gets its cost structure in line to a point where it can return to profitability. Comment! [Consumer, On the Move]

Losers: RSH -14%. SVU -9%. WDC -8%. RF -8%. ALV -7%. DD -7%. GNTX -7%. NOK -7%. MT -5%. 1 Comment [On the Move] - Tuesday, October 23, 2012, 8:27 AM Shares of RadioShack (RSH) sink in premarket trading, down 15.5%, after the retailer reports a larger-than-expected loss for Q3. Traders expect the company's earnings conference call (webcast) to get a little testy as RadioShack appears to be adding unprofitable business lines faster than it's cutting expenses. On the hot seat: BofA with its spanking-new Buy rating still resonating. Comment! [Consumer, On the Move]
- Tuesday, October 23, 2012, 6:52 AM More on Radio Shack's Q3 (RSH): Post-paid mobility business a disappointment, with gross profit slipping 18.6% Y/Y to $360M as margins weakened. Capital spending down 19% Y/Y. Total debt now stands at $749M with the balance coming due between 2016 and 2019. RSH -7.5% premarket. (PR) Comment! [Consumer, Earnings, On the Move]
- Tuesday, October 23, 2012, 6:06 AM RadioShack (RSH): Q3 EPS of -$0.33 misses by $0.17. Revenue of $1.0B (flat% Y/Y) misses by $40M. (PR) 1 Comment [Earnings]

- Tuesday, October 9, 2012, 1:49 PM More on BofA's bullish take on RadioShack (RSH +10.6%) (previous): Analyst Denise Chai sees a lackluster Q3 for the retailer already baked into its stock price, as she jumps back on the name as a buying opportunity. She says a bright spot for RadioShack is the large number of leases coming up for renewal each year which could free up cash and help it stay nimble, while a point of concern is landing an effective CEO before too much time passes. 1 Comment [Consumer]

Losers: EW -17%. ATHX -14%. OC -7%. NFLX -7%. ALU -5%. 3 Comments [On the Move] - Friday, October 5, 2012, 7:50 AM RadioShack's (RSH) price target is cut to $1.50 from $2 at UBS which cites uncertainty amidst the exit of its CEO, onerous credit lines, and spurious cost-cutting efforts. 1 Comment [Consumer]

RadioShack (RSH) not only doubled their dividend, but it now offers 16.2% dividend. That's better than the S&P 500 average. - View all 2 replies

GP8008: 16.2% ? Are you sure about that? The dividend is paid out annually, not quarterly. -
