    More on Rosetta Stone (RST): Q2 misses across the board. Total revenue decreased 9%, largely due to the rationalization of less efficient kiosks, lower sales internationally and a decline in the Institutional business because of the non-renewal of the Army and Marines contracts last year. Shares -2.6% AH.

    More on Rosetta Stone's Q2: No explanation is given for the poor results. However, the company notes international consumer sales fell 33% Y/Y to $8.1M, worse than Q1's 14% drop, and U.S. consumer swung from a 52% Q1 increase to a 4% decline. Institutional sales fell 2%, nearly even with Q1. Rosetta is expanding its 2012 adjusted EBITDA guidance range to the downside, but is leaving its revenue guidance unchanged. The Street appears skeptical. RST -23.8% AH. (PR)

    More on Rosetta Stone's Q1: Consumer unit sales +67% Y/Y, boosted by inventory restocking, though ARPU fell 22%. U.S. consumer was easily the company's strongest segment, +52% Y/Y and 61% of sales. International consumer -14%, Institutional -1%. Opex fell slightly Y/Y in spite of revenue growth. RST is guiding for 2012 revenue of $270M-$285M and EPS of -$0.33 to -$0.20, compared with a consensus of $280.6M and -$0.64. RST +12.4%. (PR)

    A federal appeal court overturns most of a lower court's ruling in Rosetta Stone's (RST -1.4%) trademark infringement case against Google, breathing new life in the case first filed in 2009. The lower court has been directed to reconsider when Google first diluted the Rosetta Stone trademark and if the trademark was "famous" at the time.

    Rosetta Stone (RST -10.5%) extends its losses from Friday after reporting a disappointing Q3 on weak bookings. The stock has netted a 32% loss over just the past two sessions, and is down over 70% since hitting its 52-week high in November of last year.

    Rosetta Stone (RST -20.6%) crashes to an all-time low after reporting Q3 revenue of $64.2M (+5% Y/Y) and EPS of -$0.06; the latter beat by $0.07, but the former missed by $2.9M. The language software firm's bookings fell 10% Y/Y to $66M, and its ASP fell 18% to $326. Rosetta Stone expects Q4 revenue of just $64M-$70M, well below an $84.5M consensus.

    Rosetta Stone (RST -2%) moves lower after announcing CEO Tom Adams will transition to the role of non-executive Chairman, once "a suitable successor" is found. Adams has been Rosetta Stone's CEO since 2003.

    Rosetta Stone (RST) surges 13.3% after reporting Q2 revenue of $66.7M (+10% Y/Y) and EPS of -$0.22, beating consensus by $4.5M and $0.23. Demand from international consumers (+58% Y/Y) offset weaker sales to institutions (-1%) and U.S. consumers (-5%). The company expects Q3 revenue of $65M-$70M and EPS of -$0.24 to -$0.05, in-line with consensus.

    Rosetta Stone (RST +4.4%) gains after adding five new languages to its technology-based teaching solution. Rosetta lost a legal battle against Google (GOOG +0.7%) recently over trademarks, but stays aggressive with new advanced study tools for Mandarin and Russian, as well as apps for iPhones and iPads.

    Google (GOOG) will argue it's not responsible for ad content as it tries to persuade a judge to dismiss an infringement suit by language software maker Rosetta Stone (RST). At the heart of the conflict are keyword sales; paid links using RST trademarks directed Google visitors to competitors or counterfeiters.
