    • Websense makes software that blocks websites and lets companies inspect network traffic and filter emails for security and hacking threats.
    • RTN in November acquired Blackbird Technologies, a surveillance and cybersecurity company, for $420M to bolster its intelligence business.

    • Raytheon (NYSE:RTN) has acquired Sensintel, a provider of unmanned aircraft systems solutions, which will become part of the company's Missile Systems business.
    • The transaction is not expected to materially impact Raytheon's sales or earnings in the first quarter or full year 2015.

    With defense budgets being slashed around the world, the collapse of the BAE's $45B merger with EADS will put the focus on possible deals between tier-two firms such as Rockwell Collins (COL), L-3 Communications (LLL), SAIC (SAI) and Harris (HRS), industry execs and bankers tell Reuters. Much could depend on whether Congress averts the automatic defense cuts that are due from Jan 1.

    Raytheon (RTN +0.5%) says it's acquired Pikewerks, a privately held company that provides cybersecurity solutions focusing on insider threat protection, software protection and forensics. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
