    Shares of Scholastic (SCHL) are currently halted in post-session trading after it lowers its FY13 EPS view to $1.40-$1.60 from $2.20-$2.40 and its revenue view to between $1.8B - $1.9B from $1.9B-$2.0B, which are both below consensus expectations of $2.27 per share on revenue of $1.94B respectively. The company attributes the lowered guidance to weak curriculum product sales in its Educational Technology and Services segment due to school budget constraints.

    Scholastic (SCHL) increases its guidance for FY12 after the fervor over the The Hunger Games trilogy keeps driving sales higher. The firm now expects EPS to exceed $3.40/share, compared with prior guidance calling for a range of $2.60 to $2.90. Shares are roaring, +10.5% premarket.

    More than just Lions Gate (LGF -5.5%) could enjoy a Hunger Games boost, from booksellers to movie companies and theaters to toy companies with character tie-ins to capitalize on the franchise, according to Kapitall: SCHL, AMZN, HAS, MAT, IMAX.     Scholastic Corp. (SCHL +5.5%) and Lions Gate (LGF +3.4%) are both higher today in anticipation of Friday's movie debut of "The Hunger Games." nationwide. Last week Scholastic said sales of the book trilogy had reached a high point for the quarter, but some investors fear that the feverish interest in the film may already be priced-in to both stocks.
