I agree with Donald Johnson. I believe the ADP report to be far more accurate than the government report for non-government employment. Particularly when you look at the months of adjustments the government makes after the fact. Bad example using ADP. Reply

People forget sometimes...particular... the losers in the market, that the market itself is composed of many different elements, moving in different directions continuously and at the end of any day there will be many stocks that have move in one direction or another.
There ARE many good companies out there doing an excellent job in the areas and fields they operate in; because they are well managed and alert to all aspects affecting them, including the financial industry at large (which is in a huge mess right now and for at least a probable year). One should never throw the baby out with the wash which is there is always a tendency to do with things in general go badly. The people who pay attention, even small investors like myself will make money most of the time IF they manage to find the "right" companies to invest in and IF they pay close attention to "who's on first" especially when it comes to who they pay for the investing advice they use. Sounds to me like we may have sore loser or two out there. Nobody wins 100% of the time, not even the crooks.....I intend to enjoy my profits by spending a little and investing some more of them in the "right" stocks.

This is completely insane! Citigroup and ETrade and Merril Lynch have absolutely TERRIBLE quarterly reports and their stock price goes up, with the reasoning that it wasn't as bad as it could have been. Sectors of the economy are going thru depression and hyperinflation depending on which sector you are reffering to. The countries financial system has to be bailed out by the FED. We are in a recession! Inflation (REAL) is way out of control, and the FED is going to be forced to raise interest rates to TRY to control it and the falling dollar! Yet investors think that the stock market should be at or going to new all time highs. Someboby is going to eventually wake up and say the emporer is naked when they realize that the emporer doesn't have any clothes on. People who are in this market deserve to lose a good chunk of their past profits! Reply

Value Of ComScore's Data Is Debunked [view article]
Scratch that first post. I've hated ComScore since 2 months ago when they made the first Google blunder and copied that from my original post. As we can see notthing has changed with those idiots.

I once was bullish on Comscore. That is a thing of the past. Those
guys couldn't pass an exam if the answers were provided to them.

I added a second short position at yesterdays closing.

Google is ALL over the board right now because of Comscores blunder.

If they got it that wrong with Google it's a sign that Comscore does
not know what the hell it's doing.

I'm dumping 2000 shares of Scor at the next uptick and enterng a short
    position from there.

I haven't looked at the ADP situation, but I've wondered whether its figures are more accurate than the government's. Is the market giving too much credit to the government figures and not enough to ADP? Reply

    Interesting!

From the CrossProfit website statistics we have noticed that ComScore has consistently understated our site's traffic by a factor greater than x10!!! (We stopped checking a long time ago and just checked again today.)

We are not talking about being off by 10%. Hear this loud and clear, they are off by over 90%! Google analytics on the site is pretty accurate, within 1% margin of error.

In the past ComScore explained away the vast discrepancy explaining that their system is geared to higher traffic sites and the greater the site's traffic the more accurate their numbers.

The conclusion must be that Google doesn't have enough traffic for the ComScore system to be accurate! Oh well...

Disclosure: Just fooling around and NO OPINION being expressed regarding ComScore. We do not understand the discrepancy. No one at CrossProfit has the necessary technical background to figure this out.

ComScore Shares Whacked By Paid-Click Controversy [view article]
You're basically saying: "Maybe Comscore really was accurate, because it was only measuring a tiny % of Google's business, and Google's doesn't break down it's results enough for us to know if Comscore was accurate."

But I think this is far too generous to Comscore. However you spin it, Comscore was of no use to its customers. Either it didn't measure what they needed to me measured, or it measured it wrong. Either way, its customers must be frustrated.

I'd really like to hear what Comscore itself has to say about this.
