So can anyone tell me...if they do decide they need HD in every Sat Rad device, will that be setting back the time it takes to put out the new radios? I hope this is just a dog and pony show the FCC is putting on to make an appearance for the anti-merger parties. ReplyHas Jim Cramer Crossed the Line with Sirius XM? [view article]
Jim Cramer destroyed more wealth of the ordinary folks than he made for them. Every Network has a clown - Jim is CNBC's. ReplyLeave Sirius Alone! [view article]
Cant get that Cramer off my mind...fuk Cramer....since he's still saying "sell Sirius" I'm buying. Don't fall for this crap ReplyHas Jim Cramer Crossed the Line with Sirius XM? [view article]
I'm not VicDave / Cramer......First of all my comment about Warren Buffet proves nothing that most here who invest in this speculative stock and company didn't already know. I don't see Warren on any of these boards. Nor did I read the announcement that appointed you as his spokes person. I have got to tell you though, I really like your shiny new calculator and the way they integrated it into you "Back to School" Spiderman back pack or did you do that all by yourself. Thanks for the update on where Cisco has been over the last 7 years. I'm sure John Chambers is on hold waiting for your input on what to do next. ReplyCramer

Cos, thank you for proving my poiint with your comment about Warren Buffet. Sirius is speculation, not investment. On that basis, I have no problem with the stock. Unless you bought it in the last two weeks, you're down at least 50% on your investment. Some of the people on this board are down probably 70% to 80%, or more, and that means they have to TRIPLE OR QUADRUPLE that return, just to break even! (for the uninitiated going from $2.64 down to $1.32 is only a 50 % drop; but to get back to $2.64 is a 100% increase!) Therefore just to get back to the $5.00 level, would require a 300% increase in the stock price. Seen any of those recently? That is presuming all those convertibles and stock options don't flood out any increase in stock price. Ever watch the action on Cisco? In the last 7 years it has been unable to break 28 for any length of time, because the company issues a huge amount of options which get cashed in whenever the price tries to break out. Stay in or get out of the stock, but at least recognize what you're seeing. ReplyHas Jim Cramer Crossed the Line with Sirius XM? [view article]
killer..... I believe you just might have it right......again. Funny how vicdav didn't respond but his "twin other" did. I think I went through this before with a pseudonym called "SeriousRoadkill&... So many personalities with so little time. Why would Warren Buffet get involved in a speculative stock. Doesn't fit his modality at all. ReplyLeave Sirius Alone! [view article]
By the way I haven't heard from 888's in a while. I think SA hasn't responded to his e-mails. On SiriusBuzz.com I chatted a bit with him on their forums section. He's still keeping it real there. ReplyLeave Sirius Alone! [view article]
killer.......the same to you my friend. Labor Day always marks the end of a very short season here in New England. The next thing you know we're enjoying the foliage right before we rake em' and bag em'.I think next week will not be important unless Mel gives some guidance. So far no announcement of a conference call. Just a lot of chatter waiting for some news. Reply

shure46, look up geosynchronous orbit, and you will be able to better understand Sirius XM Radios' content delivery system and why it is so consistent and limited currently to the Continental United States and Canada. Also this makes their "ground based" transmission station critical to operations. ReplyHas Jim Cramer Crossed the Line with Sirius XM? [view article]
cos......... in less time than they think, some of these pundits are going to regret knowing how to spell or understand the words...........a buying opportunity. ReplyLeave Sirius Alone! [view article]

cos1000 I know they are not compatible yet. I'm also not trying to be rude I like intelligent conversation. I was merely trying to point out why i like the merger and the stock for reasons most people don't even consider. have a good labor day cos1000. ReplyLeave Sirius Alone! [view article]
BullisBroker, ......Hence the risk is not as it was three years ago and only going to get better.Risk is an assessment of worst case scenarios. Satellites in orbit today are more at risk of failure due to age, obsolescence, and percentages. The only way it will get better is to replace them, which in itself is a high expense and risky business. Launches, technology failure and all that. Having said that, I am very long this stock and company and believe in their abilities to overcome these very real "Risks". Reply

BullishBroker, XM's two satellites currently broadcasting are the "ONLY" means for XM's current subscribers to receive XM's broadcasting. XM's two reserve satellites, total of 4 in the sky, are not operational at this time and might not be able to be activated if 1 of the 2 become inoperable. Sirius's satellites can only "Simulcast" XM's broadcast to Sirius subscribers currently and vice versa. When they make that available this Fall, provided that they make spectrum available by eliminating duplicate channel broadcasting, such as Country, Talk, 70's, etc. etc., that feature will be realized and offered as the "Best of Programming".If in fact XM loses a Satellite, current subscribers to that service will experience a dramatic loss of signal, of which Sirius' satellites would be of no use in solving the problem. I understand the orbits, geosynchronous and all that. "Orbit" is misleading because they orbit over the same coverage area as the earth spins. Its a matter of whether or not their technology is compatible and "IT IS NOT" currently. Inter-operable radios will help with this but, until the network of compatible satellite technology is in orbit, failure of a satellite will disrupt service for either subscription company, period.
Further, Sirius having more operable satellites in orbit currently, allowed them to shut down ground based repeaters (FCC violation) in 2006, while XM with their limited satellite configuration had to an still do have their ground based repeaters operating. Hence $2 mil for Sirius in fines vs $19 mil for XM by the FCC (or should I say voluntary contributions to the US Treasury)
So I was being kind when I said don't hype. I may not have it exactly right but I am more than willing to debate you on the current technologies. I'm not Bashing you, I'm simply inviting you to an intelligent discussion of what is real and what isn't. Reply
