Boone Pickens' BP Capital Funds Down Significantly [view article]
Stive, is your site attempting to have me download a virus?

I think a lot of the fast money is moving out of oil and natural gas related investments, but the fundamentals still exist for high prices in the long run, even with a global recession, conservation and alternative energy.

"it amazes me that...energy services stocks...have not performed better considering the current fundamentals and prices of oil and natural gas...oil will continue to be strong"

    Hee he. Snicker snicker.

Just kidding. I would never have predicted NOV at $22/share. Wow. And I think it's going lower - perhaps as low as16.

I have a feeling oil is going to stay around $50-70/bbl for 2-3 years, while demand stays low. But when demand picks up again and we again start bumping up against oil supply-chain limits, look for the oil services sector to skyrocket. I predict within 5 years oil services will be 3X today's valuations.

I think the market will bottom out around Dow 6500 (citing similar trend line from 1965-1973). When that happens, buy and hold as much as you possibly can.

    T. Boone Pickens Hedge Fund Holdings [view article]
People can bash T. Boone all they want. Has anyone ever gotten a job from a poor man? I didn't think so!

Where do our fertilizers come from? How are plastics made? The modern miracles of daily life, what are they based on? Our society can not live without oil and natural gas. We need to follow Mr. Pickens plan to get our cars on a path away from consuming oil.

Natural gas will work today. When battery technology becomes viable for cars, then we can power our cars with electricity.

I think T. Boone is right on with his energy plan.

I agree that all the companies you mentioned are great companie and great buys. The question to ask is when do you buy them? Obviously the most important issue is price. Stocks can languish for years, even great ones. I try to use fundamental analysis when picking stocks, but I throw in a little technical analysis when picking a buy point. I put up a chart of the company then add a 20 day moving average and a 50 day moving average. When the 20 crosses the 50 its a time to buy. Otherwise you are buying into a declining trend. Why would you want to do that?
If you had owned wft and sold when the 20 crossed under the 50 you'd have gotten out at around 45 and would be sitting pretty on the sidelines waiting to buy wft back.

275728 -- I think that you are missing my point. The point was to offer advice from the World's greatest investor. Rothschild's opinion on today's financial situation is not nearly as important to me =)

I do thank you for taking the time to read this article...

The quote you attributed to Warren Buffet is actually from Baron Phillipe Rothschild. Do some homework for heaven's sake if you are trying to make yourself sound like you know what you're talking about. Reply

Lame. A lot of these names (HPQ, MSFT, KO etc.) are going to get absolutely destroyed by the stronger dollar during Q3. I don't know why any rational human being would want to own these stocks this earning season. Reply

Definitely some surprises on this list.

No KFT, no JNJ, I guess no one consulted Mr. Buffett.
