Since my last update, nearly three months ago, the Basic Food Fund or “BFF” has risen 6.4% from $182.93 to $194.66 versus an 8.4% increase in the Dow. Its poor relative strength could be attributable to its lower beta status (lower beta stocks drop less in down markets but rise... More »

  • SLE - more food plays by Lee Eugene Munson
SLE is a second tier food company with a decent chart and safer dividend. It broke out today and could be in for a run as the defensive group starts to rotate from first to second to third (think CAG) tier names. This is not a day trade and we will see if it can hold 10 and break out to 11.
