Is this a buy or a sell? ReplyInvesting in Consumer Packaged Goods: A Global View [view article]
Howard- I found you on CPG Google Alert. Interesting insight on how innovation processes must continue to be emphasized in the CPG slowdown- particularly the idea of consumers more easily "deflecting" to private labels if innovation slows. Good strategy- what tactics/projects would enable this? PLM and/or marketing projects? Any examples that you can think of especially from the best companies? I'm going to post/link on this in my blog projectmanagement411.c... ReplyInvesting in Consumer Packaged Goods: A Global View [view article]

We never get to see their books. I think that they may talk a little better than they live. They (and Cramer) are really just part of the CNBC zoo that is growing ever more trite. ReplyFast Money Recap. 3/7/08: Oil Will Reach $378? [view article]
I was looking for more info on oil at 378 though. ReplyMost Overbought/Oversold Stocks [view article]
Ok, so I' m a new to t analyss. I understand, I believe, that if the stock is over sold, it may be udervalued, and if it's oversold it may be overvalued. These values are then based on 50 day moving averages. Are the target prices listed here also based on 1 SD of the mean of the trading range, or are they based on further expert analysis of the fundamentals of the company, along with news, and sentiment about the stocks immediate future? marcos:A fundamental-analysis guy might answer: "as long as it wants to." (Ex: super-cat events do not care what your statistical model predicts for an individual security.)
However, since stock prices cannot go negative, a more correct answer might be: "as long as it wants to... or until it hits zero for enough days that zero finally falls within 1 standard deviation of the 50day moving average. At which point-- congratulations-- your security is no longer oversold."
