[On the Move] - Thursday, June 6, 7:37 PM Synta Pharmaceuticals (SNTA) regains a big chunk in post-trading of what it lost during the regular session, after CEO Safi R. Bahcall discloses the purchase of 10K shares at $4.40. The insider buy follows the 70% hit the stock took following survival results from its Phase 2b/3 trial of Ganetespib presented at as ASCO last week. In addition to Bahcall's purchase, Director and larger shareholder Bruce Kovner also recently disclosed the purchase of 2M shares. Shares +4.9% AH. 1 Comment [Healthcare, On the Move]
- Thursday, June 6, 4:20 PM Synta Pharmaceuticals (SNTA) has another tough day, falling 5.86% in regular trading, even as CEO Dr. Safi Bahcall gives what might fairly be described as an upbeat presentation at the Jefferies Global Healthcare Conference on the ongoing GALAXY trials for ganetespib (webcast). Despite company rhetoric, the market seems to be laser-focused on an increased Hazard ratio from one study to the next (I, II), something which has weighed heavily on the shares all week. 3 Comments [Healthcare, On the Move]

[On the Move] - Tuesday, June 4, 2:40 PM Synta Pharmaceuticals (SNTA +2.7%) moves up today, after the company announced earlier that it will be presenting at the Jefferies 2013 Global Healthcare Conference on Thursday, June 6, in New York. Comment! [Healthcare, On the Move]
- Monday, June 3, 2:35 PM Synta Pharmaceuticals (SNTA -34.1%) plummets as the market's interpretation of results from a Phase 2b/3 trial of the Hsp90 inhibitor ganetespib is far less sanguine than the company's own take on the data. SNTA notes that "the combination of ganetespib plus docetaxel improves overall, and progression-free-survival compared to docetaxel alone," but investors seem to be focused on an increase in the Hazard ratio from results reported last fall. In short: data now suggest an 18% reduction in the risk of death compared to a 31% reduction last September. (previous) 1 Comment [Healthcare, On the Move]

Losers: AFFY -27%. INFI -16%. NBG -13%. SNTA -12%. Comment! [On the Move] - Monday, June 3, 8:43 AM Synta Pharmaceuticals' (SNTA) Ganetespib helped extend the lives of lung-cancer patients to a median 9.8 months when used with chemotherapy in a Phase II trial vs 7.4 month with subjects that were given just chemo. While shares are +8.4%, The Street's Adam Feuerstein says the trial results were "not statistically significant and (were) worse than" an update from study last September. Looking for an entry point into SNTA. Is $4 reasonable? Looking for a bump in advance of ASCO this summer. - View all 1 replies

Market potential for SNTA ganetespib is ridiculous. If it works in half the cancers they are studying, $10B+ potential. - View all 8 replies
