General Discussion on THK
On the last conference call Mr. Lerch announced that THK was getting into the email marketing business. Turning to SPAM is probably the last desperate step an online company can take to save its life. THK has even failed at pornography. If you review their balance sheet, they are over valued right now by about 2X and they are very close to being bankrupt. I don't know how anyone can justify an investment at these high levels. My entry tarket is about .21 and even then its very speculative. Reply

After listening to THK'S Q2 results is's obvious that The Network is what it's all about. Writing down the non-core assets and getting something for them will help the companies pocketbook in the long run. It appears that the Network Division is going to show real nice growth going forward. I have felt for some time that the plan was to divest themselves of the parts that aren't working then grow the Network substanially and eventually sell that also. I am a shareholder in THK so all opinions are strictly my thoughts. John what are your thoughts? Thanks Paulie W. ReplyValueClick: Has the Hunted Become the Hunter? [view article]
Full disclosure, I own shares of THK. ReplyValueClick: Has the Hunted Become the Hunter? [view article]
Based on the growth described, the price ValueClick will have to pay may already be steeper than they anticipated. If growth continues at this pace, they may need their entire war chest ($160 million) to generate interest from ThinkPartnership. Of course, there may be others with far deeper pockets who may decide to enter the bidding as well, all of which bodes well for this 50 cent stock. Just a thought. ReplyEditors

George - The dividend that you're referring to is a "right" - also known as a poison pill. If an investor takes a 15% stake in the company, each holder of a Right (except those held by the Acquiring Person and its Affiliates and Associates) will have the right to purchase, upon exercise, Preferred Stock of the Company having a value equal to two times the exercise price of the Right. That means that shareholders can create more shares so that the purchase price gets prohibitively expensive. It appears some mutual fund and institutional investors have been building a position in THK over the last couple of months. Someone sees value in this company. I agree that as THK gains traction in the market place (sales and market penetration) they are a likely take over target. ReplyInternet Advertising Stocks: Quarterly Revenue Growth [view article]
When YHOO announced less-than-hoped-for results, GOOG, which, presumably, wrestled market share from YHOO, should have received positivel reaction from the Street. Instead, it dropped in sympathy. Why so? omooc Reply
