Tuesday, March 26, 11:23 AM Threshold Pharmaceuticals (THLD +1.3%) gains on the back of Ziopharm's (ZIOP -63%) earlier announcement that it's ending Phase 3 trials of palifosfamide after it failed to meet its primary endpoint. An article posted in Seeking Alpha last Friday infers that THLD's competing drug, TH-302, although similar to palifosfamide in molecular structure, is differentiated enough in nature that there is still sufficient reason to believe it could work. Now, with ZIOP's drug out of the running, TH-302's addressable market increases significantly.
