M&A arbitrage: IP ups bid for TIN from $30.60 to $32/share. With TIN @ $30.80-->3.9% ROI. Q1 2012 close. (Deal accretive to IP; stock up 4%)

And why is Mercer International (MERC)? If International Paper (IP) just bought Temple (TIN) for about $3.7 billion, then shouldn't it go up

What are the chances of 90% of TIN's shares being tendered to IP ? They have only 8% now.

TIN investors are going to wish IP makes the same bid or the stock will spiral to 21-22 even under strong market conditions.
