- Monday, May 20, 4:54 PM Tesoro Logistics (TLLP) says it will buy Chevron’s (CVX) 760-mile Northwest Products pipeline system for $355M, less than the $400M previously expected, citing a March diesel fuel spill involving the system. CVX will retain liabilities and responsibility for the cleanup of the site near Willard, Utah, for two years. 1 Comment [Energy]
- Friday, May 17, 2:21 PM Tesoro (TSO +5.3%) says the FTC approved its purchase of BP's 240K bbl/day Carson, Calif., refinery and other assets. The commission found the deal would not substantially lessen competition among seven refiners for gasoline in California, the largest U.S. gasoline market. Tesoro Logistics (TLLP +3.5%) will acquire the first portion of Carson logistics assets from TSO for $640M. Comment! [Energy, On the Move]
- Monday, May 6, 5:41 PM Tesoro Logistics (TLLP): Q1 EPS of $0.40 misses by $0.08. Revenue of $51.6M misses by $1.69M. (PR) Comment! [Earnings, Breaking News]
- Thursday, May 2, 2:58 PM Enterprise Products Partners (EPD), fresh off another strong quarter, stands atop Raymond James' list of energy stocks and MLPs to buy. Alliance Holdings (AHGP) and Alliance Resource Partners (ARLP) offer attractive distributions. Other favorites: VLO, APA, STR, TLLP, ACMP, QEP. Comment! [Energy, Quick Ideas]
- Wednesday, April 10, 5:35 PM Barclays sees the growth in crude oil rail transport as a “slight positive” for MLPs, as it provides terminal investment opportunities and potential synergies partially offset by increasing competition. The financial impact of rail on MLPs is still relatively modest, the firm says, as pipelines remain the dominant mode of U.S. crude transportation due to cost and safety advantages relative to rail, barge and truck. 3 Comments [Energy]
- Tuesday, March 26, 8:42 AM Global Partners (GLP) signs a pipeline connection agreement in which Tesoro Logistics (TLLP) will build, own and operate a new seven-mile pipeline lateral from its Lignite, N. Dak., crude oil station to GLP's Basin Transload storage facility in Columbus, N. Dak. The deal will enhance the movement of crude from the mid-continent to GLP's east coast destination assets. 1 Comment [Energy]
- Monday, March 25, 5:57 PM Railroads are the critical link behind the boom in North American oil production from shale fields beyond the reach of existing pipelines, and Raymond James suggests 21 stocks likely to benefit from the trend: CNI, CP, KSU, NSC, CSX, UNP, BTE, CNQ, ARII, TRN, GMT, PBF, DK, TSO, TLLP, GEL, NRGY, GLP, CSCTF.PK, MEGEF.PK, STPJF.PK. (earlier) 3 Comments [Energy, Quick Ideas]
- Thursday, March 21, 10:43 AM The MLP analyst team at Credit Suisse, which recently reported MLPs have performed well in rising interest rate environments, also offers a list of nine names to own for the next 12 months: QRE, which sports an 11% distribution; XTEX, with a 7.5% distribution; as well as LNG, CQP, TRGP, GEL, DPM, ACMP, TLLP. 1 Comment [Energy, Quick Ideas]
- Wednesday, March 13, 12:54 PM Credit Suisse grows more selective on MLPs, citing four whose valuations it thinks have grown excessive. El Paso Pipeline (EPB -1.9%) is cut to Neutral, as the firm sees decelerating distribution growth as drop-downs associated with the acquisition of El Paso Corp. by Kinder Morgan are absorbed. TLLP and EQM also are lowered, but CVR Refining (CVRR +1.9%) is raised to Outperform. Comment! [Energy, Quick Ideas, On the Move]
- Wednesday, March 13, 10:09 AM Tesoro Logistics (TLLP -4.8%) is downgraded to Neutral at both BAML and Credit Suisse on valuation. "With a current yield of 3.1% vs. an average MLP sector yield of 6% and Tuesday's relative performance due to the addition of TLLP to the Alerian MLP Index, we now see TLLP as fairly valued," BAML writes. Comment! [Energy, Quick Ideas, On the Move]
- Monday, February 11, 4:48 PM Tesoro Logistics (TLLP): Q4 EPS of $0.53 beats by $0.04. Revenue of $47.7M misses by $1.3M. (PR) Comment! [Earnings, Breaking News, Energy]
- Monday, January 7, 4:49 PM Tesoro Logistics (TLLP) -1.5% AH after announcing a public offering of 8.5M common units, with proceeds from the offering expected to fund a portion of TLLP's previously announced $400M acquisition of Chevron's Northwest Products pipeline system. Comment! [Energy, On the Move]
- Monday, January 7, 2:58 PM Tesoro (TSO -5.3%) amends a credit pact to allow for as much as $4B in borrowings under a revolver that has a current capacity of $1.85B. Its Tesoro Logistics (TLLP -2.2%) subsidiary also boosts a credit line to $500M from $300M, with the ability to increase borrowings to $650M. Howard Weil cuts TSO shares, along with Phillips 66 (PSX -3.2%), Valero (VLO -2.9%) and other refiners. Comment! [Energy, On the Move]
- Monday, January 7, 8:49 AM Tesoro Logistics (TLLP) lowers its Q4 adjusted EBITDA guidance to $25M-$27M, down from previous $27M-$30M, citing lower terminal volumes in the Los Angeles area related to refinery maintenance activities and lower trucking EBITDA driven by a delay in the expansion of TLLP's trucking operations. Comment! [Energy]
- Tuesday, December 11, 2012, 5:27 PM Tesoro Logistics (TLLP) agrees to acquire Chevron's (CVX) Northwest Products pipeline system for $400M. The pipeline receives product from five refineries and one pipeline in the Salt Lake City, Utah, area and is the primary transportation option to several other northwest U.S. areas. System delivery volumes averaged ~84K bbl/day in 2011. 2 Comments [Energy, M&A]
- Tuesday, December 4, 2012, 3:58 PM Master limited partnerships are poised for ~16% overall returns in 2013 after a year of lackluster performance capped by November’s tax-driven selloff, Wells Fargo predicts, as crude oil fundamentals remain strong and nat gas fundamentals should rebound modestly in 2013. Fargo's favorites: GEL, PAA, EPD, MWE, NGLS, EQM, TLLP, SUSP, TRGP, WMB, OKE. 2 Comments [Energy, Quick Ideas]
