- Monday, November 5, 2012, 6:32 PM Terra Nitrogen Company, L.P. (TNH) declares $4.12/share quarterly dividend, -2.1% decrease from prior dividend of $4.21. For shareholders of record Nov. 16. Payable Nov. 29. Ex-div Nov. 14. (PR) 1 Comment [Dividends]
- Wednesday, July 18, 2012, 10:41 AM The corn crop is gone, says Dennis Gartman, and despite already high prices, corn and corn-related shares should be bought on any weakness. Stay away from fertilizer stocks, however tempting as they may be as a proxy to corn. Buying them on the premise that laying more fertilizer will save the crop is just a "silly idea," Gartman quips. Fertilizer may be needed next year, but right now, anybody who's laid some down already wishes they hadn't because the crop is completely destroyed. (video) 36 Comments [Commodities]
- Thursday, March 29, 2012, 1:17 PM Mosaic (MOS -5.7%) is off sharply falling its FQ3 miss, which was marked by slumping margins. The timing of the miss is unfortunate for Stifel, which is starting coverage on rival Potash (POT -1.8%) with a Buy, arguing continued crop pricing strength and Chinese demand will give shares a lift. Also trading lower: CF -3.5%. TNH -2.5%. AGU -1.3%. (previously) Comment! [Commodities, On the Move, Quick Ideas]
- Thursday, January 19, 2012, 3:18 PM Prices of most retail fertilizers slip for the seventh straight week, with the potential to hurt fertilizer stocks such as CVR Partners (UAN), Terra Nitrogen (TNH) and CF Industries (CF). On the flip side, lower natural gas prices - which fell to a 10-year intraday low today - should reduce fertilizer production costs. (submitted by Todd Johnson) Comment! [Commodities]
- Thursday, December 1, 2011, 9:26 AM Four new names on Daniel Miller and Jason Robinson's Wall Street Bean Screen for December, exhibiting fundamental strength: TNH, FCFS, TEO, MSFT. Their overall top five: HITK, CEO, RES, EZPW, GRMN. Comment! [Quick Ideas]
- Wednesday, September 28, 2011, 9:49 AM Shares of fertilizer-related companies open lower across the board, led by Terra Nitrogen (TNH) down 2%. Decliners: CF -1.8%, MOS -1.6%, AGU -1.4%. Comment! [On the Move]
- Wednesday, September 21, 2011, 3:18 PM Shares of Terra Nitrogen (TNH -11.2%) sink for the 2nd straight day, falling much harder than other fertilizer stocks. The enticing dividend yield of 9.9% could be a trap, given the company has already reduced its payout to $3.75 from $4.84 earlier this year. 8 Comments [On the Move]
- Tuesday, September 20, 2011, 3:07 PM Fertilizer stocks sink in unison today after M&A chatter that has ramped up interest in shares starts to subside. Decliners: CF -5.8%, TNH -5.7%, POT -3.5%, MOS -2.3%. Comment! [On the Move]
- Tuesday, May 27, 2008, 9:44 AM India gov't looks to boost fertilizer production. Potash producers are -1-4% after a selloff in Europe yesterday. (POT, MOS, IPI, TRA, TNH) Comment!
- Monday, May 26, 2008, 8:41 AM Shares of Europe's biggest potash producer plunged 8% Monday on speculation the massive fertilizer rally is over. (POT, MOS, IPI, TRA, TNH) Comment!
