Felix Salmon was wrong this time: Thomson Reuters (TRI) confirms it's buying Breakingviews, a deal sources say will cost £12.5M ($20M). Reuters' nascent commentary unit will be folded into Breakingviews, and marketed as a premium product. Meanwhile, FT Alphaville has some fun at the expense of its rival.

According to an article in BusinessWeek, interested potential bidders for McGraw-Hill's (MHP) BusinessWeek magazine include OpenGate Capital, which owns TV Guide, and veteran financier Bruce Wasserstein, owner of The Deal and NY Mag. Passers include Time Warner (TWX), Thomson Reuters (TRI) and Bloomberg.
