Correcting a myth - regarding GM and Toyota Motor (TM).Many believe that GM is no. 1 globally as recently published it outsold Toyota by 1000 or 3000 cars in 2007.
In reality, GM's revenue was $181B in 2007 (01/2007-12/2007) down considerably on YOY. Toyota's revenue was $252B in FY2007 (04/2007-03/2008) up nearly 10%.
It is high time the U.S. auto industry started dealing with the harsh reality before it is too late. Hype and spin can go just so far...

This was up close to 4% after hours...why? ReplyJacome

This one's a trade, not an investment. Stick away, too much smart money has gotten burned on this one and will be net sellers on any pops. ReplyEditors

I own this stock and agree with Mitra's comments, but there are plenty of other "techhies" available at bargain-basement depressed prices that I would consider before buying more. Larger and better known high-tech companies are currently trading near their all-time lows. Some selective cherry-picking is in order, if you agree the current economic turmoil is closer to an end than it is the beginning. ReplyTessera Selloff Way Overdone - Cowen [view article]
So why is that the patents from Tessera are easily challenge from the ‘noobs’ in the nanotech industry? I mean if Tessera would have had his legal team properly registering its patents with adquate, indisputable, hard core documentation, these issues about the PTO would have been not on the table. I hope Tessera learns from this horrible and brutal situation and have some heads from its legal team roll on the floor because it is not possible that everytime a new nanotechnology has been researched and adequately tested and proven functional, it has to be ‘lame’ or poorly registered in the PTO, in such a way that even the ‘noobs’ would come out and challenge this patent. You obviously didn't take into account the credibility of the company and poor public relations as witnessed this week. ReplyJacome

TSRA toasted today - 35% - these guys sue people and that's their business model - not our type of stock. I pitched this as a short on my internship @ a top buy side shop last summer and every PM there was in love with the story. Quick haircut in < 6 months. Reply
