- Thursday, March 28, 1:05 PM Texas Industries (TXI -4.3%) slips today in a bout of profit-taking on the back of an upbeat FQ3 report earlier this morning. Net losses narrowed as total sales increased 16% Y/Y, and bottom line margins were boosted by a pickup in construction in Texas and California. Gross margin also improved to 8.7%, compared with a negative 1.5% a year earlier, as increased shipments reduced unit costs. But the stock is up over 29% since January, and investors appear inclined to take advantage of the good news to lock in some profits while they can. Comment! [Earnings, On the Move]
- Thursday, March 28, 12:13 AM Texas Industries (TXI): FQ3 EPS of -$0.30 beats by $0.11. Revenue of $141.3M beats by $0.32M. (PR) Comment! [Earnings, Breaking News]
- Thursday, January 10, 10:43 AM Texas Industries (TXI -2.2%) slips today after its FQ2 missed its bottom line target due to charges, but managed to beat on its top line. Total sales grew by 14% Y/Y, and net losses narrowed as cement sales continue to strengthen. Sales at the cement segment, its biggest by revenue, rose 20% as the division swung to an operating profit, but total sales at the consumer products business slipped 9%. Gross margin also widened to 7% from 1%. Comment! [Earnings, On the Move]
- Wednesday, January 9, 6:27 PM Texas Industries (TXI): FQ2 EPS of -$0.4 misses by $0.07. Revenue of $167.6M (+14.7% Y/Y) beats by $5.94M. Shares -7% AH. (PR) 2 Comments [Earnings, On the Move]

The transaction is expected to close before year-end. TXI +1.2%, TRN -0.2% AH. Comment! [M&A]
- Monday, October 22, 2012, 11:16 AM Texas Industries (TXI +2.2%) trades up on an upgrade to Neutral at Sterne Agee, citing investor enthusiasm over a potential takeover. The firm says that perceptions are focused on possible suitors who would revive end-market demand for the company's products. Additonally, TXI was mentioned positively over the weekend in a Barron's report, saying the cement company stands to be a substantial beneficiary from any recovery in the housing market. Comment! [On the Move]
- Wednesday, September 26, 2012, 7:45 PM More on Texas Instruments (TXI): FQ1 meets top line expectations but misses on the bottom line, despite a bump up in margins. TXI asserts that the imports are being sold at less than fair value, unfairly benefit from government subsidies and have materially injured Texas cement producers and their employees. Comment! [Global & FX]
- Wednesday, July 11, 2012, 6:26 PM Texas Industries (TXI): FQ4 EPS of $2.15 may not be comparable to consensus of -$0.33. Revenue of $174.6M (-0.7% Y/Y) misses by $8M. (PR) Comment! [Earnings]
