I have held Verizon( Ma Bell-BellAtlantic) for 2 decades and av. 12% between div. & stk. price increase.
still have 6000 shares in my portfolio and feel very confortable knowing the FIOS buildout will make Verizon a winer!

The only stock from that list that has increased its dividends longest seems to be KFT, but its still less than 10 years.. Reply

It is difficult to fill an hour day in and day out. On a cost-benefit basis, I no longer listen to him. Instead, this forum provides a valuable service -- I can get what Cramer recommended by just spending a couple of minutes; even this I do sporadically. Why blame the reporter -- each reader must accept his/her responsibility while reading another person's views. Reply

Puiblishing a summary of Cramer's picks is fine, but how about exercising a little critical judgement once in a while? Cramer tends to be a bit loquacious (I almost said, a bit of a "motor mouth"), and providing a trail of breadcrumbs through the dark woods of his comments might be of benefit to the reader. Reply

The table provides data only. It does not provide recommendations.

Data is potentially useful depending on the reader and their own investment approach. It is an extract from the full list which simply identifies those companies that are increasing earnings and those that are not. That is potentially important information.

Perhaps one point would be to suggest to some readers how they might gain perspective about sectors, industries or companies by putting together a similar table for their full universe.

So what is the point of this? Buy the dogs and sell the companies with real earnings? Many of the financials will never recover in share price for two reasons, namely, there ability to lever the balance sheet and party in SIV land is over, and exisiting shareholders in most cases have been diluted into oblivion. Tyco should not be on the list imo. The company split into three parts last year and the statistics are screwed up. Reply

user155010.. and other folks who think Jim Rodgers is great?
He has called for Frannie & Freddy to fail-uh should fail.., complaining that everyone has committed theft, fraud, etc. When ask by the interviewer if he was short these stocks he said of course. He stated yes he was making money being short but who cared if he was making money?? After all he said, "I have to pay taxes on it".. right!!
He spends his TV time bad mouthing the stocks so he can make his money short..a nice ethical guy.
    just my view..
