That Sucking Sound? It's FDIC Insurance Taking Over [view article]
Buy a house way over your head in affordability. Don't make the payments. Stay in the house during the foreclosure process-free of charge of course. A forced move. Onwards and upwards to another home thanks to the U.S. Government bailing out a bunch of people who didn't have the intellect to spell cat even when spotted the "c" and the "a", let alone read what they signed without hesitation. Did Uncle Sam bail out the stockholders in 2000 when the market tanked? No. Why should we bail out these irresponsible people now? Why is it that we as taxpayers are sucked dry because of the stupidity of a few? Why does this government reward welfare behavior? Here's a solution: get off your rumps, work for a living, and live BELOW your means. Stop expecting everyone else to rescue you from your own ignorance. Gee, wonder why we have an immigration issue? Who wouldn't want to come here with the free ride for education, medical care, housing, food stamps, etc.? When will this dumbing down of America come to an end? ReplyThat Sucking Sound? It's FDIC Insurance Taking Over [view article]
Government bailout here, government bailout there. The government is us, and all the money we use to bail out ourselves is borrowed from China. Never has this country been so vulnerable to a meltdown. I don't think it will happen, but the conditions are ripe. ReplyThat Sucking Sound? It's FDIC Insurance Taking Over [view article]
Backed by the full faith and credit of the almost bankrupt United States government ReplyBoard and Executive Compensation in S&P 500 [view article]
its all a self serving scam.the new word should be "suckerholder&quo... stockholder.the ceo's & bod's are just selfserving & nobody mentions the suckerholder in the boardroom. pay should only be by dividend fro shares bought by management & bod's & no options.that would straighten things out real quick.utopia? ReplyBoard and Executive Compensation in S&P 500 [view article]
Jackooo...you are exactly correct. The companies send out proxies, etc., as a "feel good" exercise, not something that will result in any change of directors, management, etc. The mutual funds are not doing their jobs when they simply go along to get along with extreme compensation packages being set up by compensation committees. Any time a compny is losing money badly, but gives top executives major pay raises, something is wrong inside the management of the companies. ReplyBoard and Executive Compensation in S&P 500 [view article]
Years ago when it became so obvious to me that boards of directors were nothing more than good old boys clubs, rubber stamps for corporate executives and every bit as greedy, I began to look in the proxy for the identities of the Compensation Committee. Every proxy I have voted since I have withheld my vote for those committee members and have encouraged others to do the same. May never have an affect but at least its something I can do to express my dissatisfaction... ReplyBoard and Executive Compensation in S&P 500 [view article]
I have both T and CMCSA. I notice their executive teams are paid the most. That's a shame from these two losers. The SEC can make up lots more rules & I can vote against the board but unless the mutual fund companies vote their shares against the boards, we individual share holders might as well forget proxy voting.
I cannot understand why the funds don't take the reigns? It is their clients that are losing money. It is true that most of the clients are dumb and lazy regarding financial savy but gezz. You would think the funds would do something, no?? Reply
Board and Executive Compensation in S&P 500 [view article]
giving the people on the board hefty 'compensation' really amounts to a bribe by the top execs to keep the big exec $ coming, no matter what. Warren Buffet does it right, when it comes to this. good article. thank you. ReplyBuying a Buffett Portfolio [view article]
If I never hear the phrase "Mr. Market" again I'll be happy, it's like being treated like a retarded five year old. "Well, son, the market dropped because Mr. Market was grumpy today". Jesus Christ. ReplyMacDougal
Well-Capitalized Regional Banks: The Bottom Is In [view article]
You write, "I continue to believe I am correct, and the market is being irrational."Your belief gives good proof of irrational false belief.
The price of any stock can rise only when [1] number of buyers > number of sellers, share float constant [2] number of buyers = number of sellers, share float shrinking [3] growth rate of number of buyers to sellers faster than growth rate of change in share float
Most folks fail to see that they are gambling at Stock Exchange Casinos.
These folks fail to see that what they ought to be betting on is cash flow into the casino and net cash flow into the specific game (stock) they are playing.
What drives Stock Exchange Gambling is growth in Disposable Personal Income for 401k (Middle Class Lottery Ticket) holders, lack of favorable bets in other places (commodities, commerical paper, government debt).

Buying a Buffett Portfolio [view article]
well I chose the companies that are more within my circle of understanding ... I probobly should have included bni because I do get the economics there...I just believe there is more value in say kft right now ... with kft you are buying shares below berkshires cost where as with bni you would be paying a hefty premium to berkshires cost...but good point... ReplyBuying a Buffett Portfolio [view article]
Where are BNI, PKX, SNY, and Tesco PLC missing from your list? They are all major Buffett positions.Reply
