    United Technologies (UTX) isn't done selling businesses, CFO Greg Hayes tells analysts, as it looks to raise $3B to help with its $16.5B buyout of Goodrich (GR). UTX is seeking buyers for its rocket fuel, wind power, and three other businesses, with final decisions due by Q2's end.

    United Tech (UTX -0.3%) sells $1B of convertible notes, or 20M equity units at $50 each. It's less than the $1.5B United Tech said it would raise to help finance its $16.5B acquisition of Goodrich (GR), although the conglomerate says it has found other sources of cash. This could include the sale of three units, one of which is reportedly imminent. (PR)

    United Technologies (UTX) is selling 20M equity units worth $1B to help finance its $16.5B acquisition of Goodrich (GR), with each unit consisting of common shares and notes. Underwriters will have an option to purchase an extra $100M of the securities. (PR)

    United Technologies (UTX) offers to sell assets to persuade the EU to OK the conglomerate's $16.5B purchase of Goodrich (GR), Reuters reports, although there's no word on what those assets are. The EU has expressed concern about the markets for engine controls, AC power generators, fuel nozzles and aftermarket services.

    UTX received about $38B in orders at relatively tight spreads to Treasurys on its $9.8B bond offering, which is being used to fund the $18.4B acquisition of Goodrich (GR). The sale was the largest this year and the 6th largest on record. That's how it's done Facebook, write Andrea Johnson and Danielle Robinson.

    United Tech (UTX +0.9%) CEO Louis Chenevert tells an investor conference that he's confident that the company's $16.5B acquisition of Goodrich (GR +0.4%) will close in July despite the EU giving itself until the end of August to complete an antitrust review. "We have done the right things to wrap this deal up," Chenevert says.

    Carlyle (CG +0.2%) and TPG are weighing separate $3.5B - $4B bids for United Technology's (UTX +0.6%) pump and compressor units. UTX is selling the pump and compressor businesses of its Hamilton Sundstrand unit to avoid issuing new shares to fund its $16.5B purchase of Goodrich (GR -0.1%). FlowServe (FLS +0.2%) and Dover Corp. (DOV -0.8%) are also said to be mulling over potential bids as well.

    U.S. and European manufacturers are racking up weak performance in China as growth slows to its lowest level in three years, and the government is attacking the problem in a way that only China can: by pushing its expansion policy into the interior. As the coastal markets mature and struggle with a glut of housing and commercial space, companies are now looking at expanding inland, where the clampdown on the housing market isn't so tight.

    Shares of United Technologies (UTX +1%) continues to pare back most of its decline over the past couple days, largely due to a mixed Q1 report. Argus upgrades the shares to Buy this morning on the weakness, saying the stock is poised to benefit from an upswing in the commercial aircraft market.
