Homebuilders Securing Credit Lines If They Still Can [Housing Tracker] [view article]
To encourage people to be responsible, we should have tax penalty and special points for future loans on load defaulters and tax incentive to people who keep their mortgages, to those who take on new mortgages, and to those who increase their mortgages, similar to tax on big cars and incentives for small/hybrid cars. Please spread this if you agree so that the politicians will do something. ReplyHomebuilders Securing Credit Lines If They Still Can [Housing Tracker] [view article]

As a follow-up, I sold most of my position in THO and just missed selling the balance near 32 late Friday. While the stock doesn't face resistance now until 34, this short-squeeze is played out for the most part. I continue to believe that the longer-term prospects are favorable and would hope to reenter, perhaps near 28. ReplyBrochstein

I am not sure, but in my review of DW, I saw that they are working to improve fuel efficiency, but I don't recall the details. You can be assured that the higher prices of fuel will lead to innovation in this area as well. ReplyTime to Add RVs to Your Portfolio? [view article]
Maybe I've missed the news on this one somewhere, but have their already been attempts of making hybrid fueled RVs? One of the most common perceptions of 'green' autos is that have to be tiny, what about flipping that coin and producing energy and fuel conscious RVs? Replyah

these guys are selling VCRs in a DVD world ReplyNo Vacation for Fleetwood: Oil Takes Toll on RV Industry [view article]
Rough times, indeed, for many industries. But we have seen this before. The RV industry's strength lies in the innate appeal of its product augmented by aggressive advertising through an industry coalition. During one of the petroleum crises years ago analysts were citing doom and gloom, but the founder of Winnebago quiped, "You can't take sex, booze or weekends away from the American people." He was right. Following each "disaster" which has spelled hard times for RV sales the industry has rallied, perhaps stronger because weak players were culled. Who knows how long the current problem will be with us, but my money is on the eventual stabilization of our economy, and with it the RV industry. At these depressed prices I'm a buyer of the shares of stronger RV manufacturers. ReplyNo Vacation for Fleetwood: Oil Takes Toll on RV Industry [view article]
who would buy an rv if they think the manufacturer will be bankrupt soon?who can even trust these figures?the ceo is the last guy i believe about anything. ReplyNaked Shorted Stocks [view article]
Can you recommend some reading material so I can better wrap my head around the whole "shorting" and "naked shorting" concepts?Reply

Thank you for the article, Bespoke. Do you know a law firm that has the experience to investigate who is responsible for the naked short selling? Can the firms and individuals that are involved in naked short selling be sued by shareholders who have lost money because of the naked short selling? Incredible - the SEC is only going to enforce the law for certain stocks. ReplyNaked Shorted Stocks [view article]
the selection of just a few stocks to enforce already existent naked shorting rules, is what is making the market negative - the sense of fairness, no matter now tenuous in reality anyway, has been ruptured ReplyNaked Shorted Stocks [view article]
You guys are the most dollar-short, day-late self-appointed experts here.Somebody actually pays for your advice and existence? LOL.
And change your picture. It sucks. Reply

this is frickin' unbelievable! The sec bans already forbidden (but still growing!) naked shorting just for a handful of selected darling stocks. what about the others? Don't other companies have the smae right to be protected against such illegal bear attacks?
So in essence, naked shorts on Goldman Sucks are bann3ed - but naked shorts BY Goldman are not? That's really weird. Unbelievable. Reply
