    *IF* they survive there is a lot of potential. However this stock looks to me like it does not have enough money to finance it 908 stores.

    The Wal-Mart deal is a plus. But Wall Mart is not the King in China it is in USA.     Reply

    Inflation Baby. America is a joke. Fundamentally, most have no clue of the true cause. Nor do they care! We are spoon fed disinformation, eat it up and poop out McCain, Obama and Clintion. Anyhow, to my fellow americans, revolt and reinstate the US constituition as it was written. Take the hit economically that will come from removing the banking powers, only then will we be able to compete with china and growing powers. We've been warned!     The Wall Street analysts claimed that high gas prices were hurting Walmart a few months ago. Now that gas prices are at new records, Walmart is one of the strongest stocks. Once again the analysts have proven that they aren't worth listening to. Reply

    Listen, the people that don't use this $ to pay bills will buy 2200 plasmas along w/$200 in cables. Good? nope they are just speeding up the fact they are almost at there credit limits as now they will need stereo system along w/HD cable packages ($$$). Credit cards will just delay the pain and make it much much worse. Start changing live style now!!! Reply

    A thoughtful analysis on what % of consumer spending returns to the US to circulate and what % immediately leaves the country should be done. Consumer spending that siphons money to our economic competitors who do not buy an equal amount from us in return is not helpful to the economy. Reply

    Let US not forget....Sam Walton passed away in 1992 and Hillary left the board the same year. Sam started with Walton's 5 & 10 and later "Wal-Mart" with a hyphen in the name cause he knew proper English but after his passing the company moved Purchasing to China and the "hyphen" wus replaced with a big single "star".

    Ain't it sad that the company makes the nice people of China buy 95% Chinese made item which keeps the yuan in their country but lets the American shopper have a choice up to 70% China items in the American stores which means......70% of the US dollars go to China........duh!

    People are trying to survive. I'm sure they would love to keep spending, but how can they? It's hard to justify spending at Gap or a similar store if one cannot afford to eat or drive to work. Reply

    I appreciate Dr. Mark's artice. Any way you cut it WMT does it better overall I think since I've owned it since 1981. It has made me a "ton" of money over the years with DRI and stock splits.     I appreciate this article on WMT since I've owned it since 1981. I have always felt they will meet the challenges ahead as they have since 1981. I am very long on it also. Its time to give them credit for saving us money even though I can afford to shop anywhere I want to. I made my money by saving money and WMT helped me do it and still does. RoudMan Reply
