- Thursday, March 21, 6:33 PM Westar Energy (WR +0.2%) , the largest electric utility in Kansas, said is has received approval to construct a new transmission line intended to connect two key substations. Westar will only pay for and control the southern portion of the line. The project is expected to cost around $67M which will be recouped from customers across the region.
