New methods/ideas are sometimes daunting and we as humans fear change and cling to simplicity. Times are changing and so must we. I think that in a few years you'll laugh at the notion and theme of this article. Surely you're not an overwhelmed comsumer Replyks.com

WisdomTree ETFs: Too Complex, Too Expensive? [view article]
Enhanced Index Funds and ETFs represent and excellent way to invest for long-term investors. The problem for most investors is the complexity that comes from more and more new ETFs being launched. I think there may be over 600 ETFs globally that have been launched with more on the way. Most individual investors have a tough time dealing with all this complexity. With ETF's trading intraday - most investors will fall into the trap of becoming over active. The same reason that most mututal fund investors do well. Once hughe advantage of the Dimensional Fund Advisors (or DFA) approach to investing is that there is a built in mechanism for indiviuals to have advisors help them stick with their investments and make better allocation decisions (for more on the logic of enhanced indexing and on DFA approach see for example www.indexvalue.com)
Given human nature, the majority of investors would be better of outsourcing their investments to an advisor or third party who can do the allocation of investments and use both Dimensional and WisdomTree and even some of the other good low cost ETF families out there.
Enhanced Indexing and Index Fund Investing (including many ETFs like WisdomTree) makes a lot of sense but it needs to be implemented correctly or it will be all for naught.

You do some waffling as well, when you don't suggest a figure below which an ETF family is risking failure. ReplyWhat MSCI's Successful IPO Says About WisdomTree [view article]
I am not an expert by any means but it seems there needs to be some consolidation in this business. There are so many smaller players that I don't know how all will survive. What do you guys think? ReplyWhat MSCI's Successful IPO Says About WisdomTree [view article]

WisdomTree Investments' AUM Reaches $4 Billion [view article]
Lee,AUM have doubled since late January and obviously the stocks, markets or sectors they index have not doubled over the same time period. I believe their AUM increase is based on a combination of the bull market, increases in their existing ETFs and the introduction of new ETFs.
I compared WisdomTree to PowerShares in my original write-up about WisdomTree that you can find here
www.sinletter.com/arch...
For valuation, another comparison to look at would be U.S. Global Investors (GROW), which has about the same amount of AUM as WisdomTree. GROW is not growing as rapidly as WisdomTree and happens to offer mutual funds instead of ETFs. Reply
WisdomTree Investments' AUM Reaches $4 Billion [view article]
2 questions:1. Is the increase in AUM primarily from the bull market or actual increases in new accounts?
2. How does heir valuation compare to for example power shares based on AUM. Thanks. Reply
Watch Expenses & Spreads For HealthShares, PowerShares, WisdomTree ETFs [view article]
Very interesting article. Spreads and expenses are rising on the new specialty ETFs, while the broad index ETFs are getting cheaper due to competition (eg. the new bond ETFs from State Street and Vanguard).Perhaps investors who want to play themes, (like healthcare subsectors and "green" investing) just don't care about expenses. If that's correct, the specialty ETF providers will have very profitable businesses. Reply
