    In the first month of data since Microsoft (MSFT) launched Bing, impact was modest. Google's (GOOG) U.S. search share was unchanged at 65%; Yahoo (YHOO) fell to 19.6% from 20.1%; and Microsoft rose to 8.4% from 8% in May, but is still down from 9.2% a year ago.

    Kudos to Microsoft (MSFT) for Bing's early buzz, but the question now becomes, can it keep up the momentum? Bing needs to triple its audience just to catch Yahoo (YHOO), and grow eightfold to tie Google (GOOG), which accounts for 65% of U.S. searches.

    Thirteen music companies sue Yahoo (YHOO), Microsoft (MSFT) and Real Networks (RNWK) for copyright infringement, claiming their online music stores (Yahoo Music, Zune store, and Rhapsody) are illegally selling copyrighted music. How, you ask? The suit alleges the trio licensed the recordings, but not the compositions.

    Yahoo (YHOO) is winding down Maven Networks, the online video service it acquired last year for $160M. The move is part of Yahoo's efforts to shed non-core units, but comes less than a month after Carol Bartz said she wanted to acquire more video technology. Another online video victim: Joost.

    DoJ reportedly sends letters to at least a dozen major computer firms (including YHOO, GOOG, AAPL) about a possible tech hiring pact. If the firms agreed not to poach each other's employees, they'd be in violation of the country's oldest antitrust law.

    Barclays upgrades Yahoo (YHOO) to Overweight and raises its price target to $20 from $15. Yahoo "is focused on the right core initiatives, is now better structured, has a renewed sense of innovation, and is well positioned to benefit from an eventual rebound in advertising." Shares +2.0%.

    Former Yahoo (YHOO) CFO Blake Jorgensen, who departed Yahoo as part of new CEO Carol Bartz's reorganization, winds up in denim: As of July 1 he'll be the new CFO and exec VP of Levis Strauss & Co. [PR] Guess that means he won't have to keep stretching his $1.8 million severance package; whew.
