In more news...The YTB business model is so well put together that even Expedia has adopted their own ideas on how to get people into the business.
They are charging people $4000.00 to become an agent with Expedia and a monthly maintainance fee of $250.00 with no means of reimbursement.
I'm much happier being an RTA with YTB. I only invested $500 and $49.95 monthly (which I get reimbursed back to me. My business has absolutely NO OVERHEAD!!!
Because you have NO motivation, NO determination and NO ambition... it doesn't give you the right to hate upon us who do.
Do me a favor. Monday, when you go back to work... ask your boss if you could have your pay doubled and your workload lessened. I bet He'll tell you about a line you can go stand on while he replacs you with someone who makes minimum wage. Less payout for employees = more money for your boss. There's your pyramid... keeping the little people at the bottom. Reply

As far as the lawsuits go, this is basically nothing more that people who got into YTB and chose to do absolutely nothing. They expected not to have to do much, and strike it rich. This is not the case. When one joins YTB (or any other MLM company for that matter) they better be prepared to work... and work hard. YTB also offers an optional $6000 magazine program GUARANTEE!!! If somebody works, there is absolutely no reason why they cannot make at least over that $6000 in one year. (YTB will pay the difference of they don't reach that goal). What other company out there offers a guarantee like that??? NONE!!!This case wil be settled in favor of YTB, and it will continue to be business as usual. Reply

Attention Duh,YTB does have a product to promote aside from website sales. It's called travel. Have you even taken the time to look at a YTB website to see al that it offers to those who are looking for a vacation? I invite you to see for yourself. The suppliers are real. The destinations are real. The commission I earn from all that is booked from me is real (and I am making money in the travel side of the business)!

As far a s things go with the FTC, thay already did their due dilligence on investigating YTB, and so did the NYSE. Did I mention the DSA (Direct Sales Association)? Well they too have strict guidelines, and apparently, YTB has met their guidelines in every way. dsa.org

YTB International Inc., a provider of Internet-based travel booking services for travel agencies and home-based independent representatives, said Tuesday that it is contemplating the replacement of its referring travel agent business model with a franchise operating system, potentially in 2009.The company expects that a franchising model, if adopted, would facilitate the YTB's expansion into additional markets by providing more comprehensive training and a new proprietary e-commerce platform.
Details regarding price, product offerings and the conversion plan are all under consideration.
The company hired iFranchise of Chicago for consultation on this switch, said Scott Tomer, CEO of YTB, in a statement.
If a franchising model is adopted, its distribution is expected to be managed by the current marketing arm of the company, YourTravelBiz.com, also known as YTB.com.
In May, YTB reported that its increased promotion and international expansion helped the company post a 77 percent increase in first-quarter fiscal 2008 sales, but that its loss widened due to expenses related to those efforts.
Wood River, Ill.-based YTB International Inc. (OTCBB: YTBLA) provides Internet-based travel booking services for travel agencies and home-based independent representatives in the United States, Puerto Rico, the Bahamas and the U.S. Virgin Islands. It operates through three subsidiaries: YourTravelBiz.com Inc., YTB Travel Network Inc., and REZconnect Technologies Inc. Reply

Hi all ...I have read every comment made here. Good, bad & indifferent. Look folks, it's been said over and over. Your business will be what you make it. You have to work it to get the rewards from it. You can't work at it 50% and expect to get back 150% ... yet many people expect just that.
I've read the details mentioned about the awesome comp plan, the UCC Bill of Rights, medical coverage and life insurance, bonus payments, etc ... What I haven't seen anyone else mention is the fact that what we earn and build in YTB we get to pass on to our family members. Maybe I just missed it somewhere up above but I think it's worth repeating. Our hard work and effort doesn't just roll back to the company if something happens to us. That is truly a blessing for our family members who will come to depend on this awesome compensation plan!
Those here who feel like they've gotten a raw deal ... move on. Find your niche and go for it with all your might. Life is too short to sit around whining over what hasn't worked out for you. Especially when truthfully ... it's probably your fault to begin with. But hey, how many of us really want to look in the mirror and admit that we actually have faults?!
Many of us have had obstacles to overcome in our lives. Some severe and even life threatening, (in my case deadly Bacterial Meningitis). By God's grace we've been able to continue moving forward one day at a time.
Whatever your obstacles may be ... NEVER give up! God is always here to guide us if we only ask. Get your mental attitude in gear and GO, GO, GO! You can achieve anything if you truly want it badly enough.
I myself, like a few others who have commented here, originally joined to make additional income on the side booking travel. I was presented with the YTB business plan and immediately thought ... this is it! This is my plan B to help me slow down from the physical work that I am currently doing as a Massage Therapist, (10 yrs now). In addition to my work I support and care for my two sick geriatric grandparents who live with me.
I signed up with YTB at the end of Jan. 2008. Having NO additional family here to help me I could not figure out how I was going to work everything out so I could really devote the time I needed to YTB. While it has not been easy to decrease the Massage work ... I have not had any difficulties finding travel clients. In fact, the very first business card I handed out, turned out to be my first actual customer and I booked a cruise for 5 people. I had just received my business cards, had NO training yet and NO clue what I was doing. However, I did have the phone number to YTB's home office and the support of my team leader. I quickly learned with the help and support of my YTB family exactly what I needed to do and booked the cruise. My customer was very happy and now I have customer referrals from her.
I'm continuing to book travel. I have received multiple commission checks and have checks pending. I have trips booked for customers that don't even take place until October of this year.
I have completed my CRTA and am currently working on my CLIA certification. I have an entire list of training in my back office I've been working my way through. Training and support are additional great advantages of YTB!
I realize that some of you could care less about this. My point is ... if I can work a full and physically demanding job, take care of two sick grandparents in diapers and still manage to get started in YTB and make a PROFIT ... NO ONE can tell me that the Reps & RTA's don't make money! You either don't understand the system or the Reps simply aren't putting forth the effort. Believe me ... I don't have a lot of time to spare. I make every moment count. This system does work!
For the person who was caught doing something inappropriate and terminated from the YTB system ... I won't mention your name ... you know who you are. Just move forward with your new system. You were caught because of greed! Anyone in Coaches Corner ... should be making decent monthly income.
Anyone in the YTB system with the right attitude ... will make money. If you are all about yourself and money and what can be done for you ... well, you probably won't last. You'll leave with a sour experience because your greed got the best of you. But those in the system with the attitude of helping one another succeed and training your team members ... will make plenty of residual income.
My initial investment in YTB has been recovered. As far as the monthly fee ... yes, I still pay that because I am just now deciding to begin selling travel stores. I have finally been able to slow down the physical work enough to give myself more time to dedicate to YTB and glad to do so! I however don't mind the minor monthly fee. It's less than a lot of other company's and it gets written off my taxes at the end of the year! By the way ... my CPA gave me the thumbs up on YTB and I trust him and his opinion very much!
Before I close I have to say thanks so much CamCorr! It's awesome to be in your team under JoeJ! You both do so much and it is appreciated even by the new RTA's on the block! Looking forward to a wonderful Convention this year! BIG THINGS are coming OUR way!

I am trying to evaluate YTB International. What are the tax codes to allow all the so called right offs. and why are there not more cruise lines on board for the reps to sell to their clients. the cruise industry is still a hot industry and I have read blogs that state some cruise lines have pulled out of YTB. Please educate me on YTB ReplyMarketing

With the economy in the condition that it's in, I am glad that YTB was around when I needed it. I had a real estate company and a foreclosure prevention company prior to enrolling in this program and I was actually able to offset the over head of both businesses in the first 30 days. This is not an income claim or to impress you, but its to impress upon you that if I can do as a busy professional so can you. Fight the receession the right way. Go to my site and see why in my opinion this article that was written on YTB was on the money at this time but knowing what we know today was a mere understatement! ytb.com/careertraveler... to see presentation for your self! With the ongoing determination to make the YTB the best travel corporation in its era for a person to come in and achieve their goals and dreams, YTB is contemplating transitioning to the Franchise business model. You have to be very excited about this because it and when it happens they accellerate international expansion, be held to less restrictions that come with the NWM/MLM industry, gives it a more appealing face to business people that would like to participate but feel that network marketing is beneath them, and it will give the stock exchange an infrastructure that they can gauge better when pricing their stock through the roof because of the more traditional business model is what they're used to.YTB as a NWM/MLM company has been the first to do most everything right and everything that matters in this industry. They were the first to:
1) Give Free Full Coverage Medical Benefits
2) Protect the RTA's Compensation Plan with implimenting a "RTA Bill of Rights" that has been modified by adding the "First Amendment" to it. No one can ever change it!
3) To secure the future incomes of the RTA's by filing a UCC1 Financial Filing against their own company.
4) To pay a $1,000,000 Bonus. They have paid 7 to my knowledge so far!
5) To transition to the Franchise Business Model if and when that happens!
In short, if you are with another travel corporation we wish you the best, but instead of focusing on trying to recruit our RTA's by creating negative press, focus on building your company... That will only make YTB stronger and the numbers dont lie. Last year YTB booked over $414 Million in sells which was more than all of the rest of you (Network Marketing Companies) combined.
Like they say, "If you can't beat them, you may want to join them!" Reply
