  • Kraft Foods, H.J. Heinz Merger To Drive Significant Potential Synergy And Dividend Growth Opportunities [View article]
Good thought. If I decide to buy some KRFT, I think I'll wait. Usually there is a dip after all the hype has been digested, so there might be better price entry points.

  • Retirement Strategy: The Frothy Market Beginners Portfolio Grows Cash By Doing Nothing But Owning Shares [View article]
    How 'bout a utility?
I like NEE, been good to me so far.

Price has dropped a bit as well, I'd imagine due to the rate increase 'talk'

    Give it a look!

  • Galena: I Am Bullish, However, Nobody Has Paid Me For My Stance [View article]
Not sure where he/she's getting that figure from. The only $50 million
transaction (or whatever you want to call it) is the recent purchase
    agreement with Lincoln Park Capital.

Most if not all who have followed the stock should know about that though.

I can't find anything about acquiring a drug for $50 million.

    Most likely a short hack.

    Take care!!

I know Galena bought the rights to Zuplenz recently. That was
    $5 million.

    I'm glad Ahn is gone.

Abstral hasn't been great, but it's still producing revenue for operations.

The pipeline is just that... a pipeline. Their drugs are still in various study phases. FDA clearance will undoubtedly let the stock jump, but there will
always be AF and others to put a negative spin on it.

It's still a gamble IMO for the next year or so, but I'm holding to my shares.

  • McDonald's Only Looks Good For Yield [View article]
Thanks for the article. Nice write up.

Though a lot is already known regarding current earnings/sales/etc. declines.

Thing to remember is that MCD has faced similar headwinds in the past multiple times and has always has managed to adapt. I'm banking on management to do the same with 'this round' of headwinds.

MCD isn't dead. My wife and I have gone mostly organic/local in the food department. BUT, when we get the hankerin' we hit McD's.

Quarter Pounder w/cheese and fries is a treat I'll take over anything!

Of course, that's just us. But there's still the staple menu that people will always buy.

A little innovation and updating I think will bring MCD up to par. Management willing of course.

  • MIND CTI - A 'MIND'-Blowing Triple Play For Investors [View article]
Same here. I've owned MNDO for about 4 years. Not much in the realm of capital gains, but the divvy is nice, albeit payed on a yearly basis.

I'v held as I like the management, no/low debt and business model. The last quarterly report was nice as well. I see (hopefully) a bit of growth in the future for Mind.

  • A Dividend Growth Portfolio For New Investors And Retirees Yielding 4.8%, Part 1 [View article]
    Thanks for sharing!

    I like the article.

I do have some questions though..

I have some of the holdings you mentioned in your portfolio. Notably
MO, MCD and GSK. I used to have a few partnerships, but eventually
got too frustrated with the tax complexities (I do my own taxes, and
never will pay anyone to do them!). My questions are, are you
concerned about the ability of dividend growth from GSK and MCD
following their recent lackluster reports and lower guidance?

Myself, not so much for MCD. But GSK has a lot of issues to resolve.

  • Recent Buy - AT&T Inc. [View article]
Bought some T @ around 28. Added some more on it's dip below 32.

Using the income to help build my portfolio of longer term high quality stocks.
Working pretty good so far. Don't really care about 'growth' for T, rather the income it's providing now. Where else can I park some money and get over 5% (dividends) on a quarterly basis? Not complaining.

  • 3 Reasons Why McDonald's Is A McSell [View article]
I dunno. I'm long MCD. Great revenue generator.
Been eating healthier for the last 10 years, however
IMO you can't beat a Quarter pounder w/cheese. When I
get the hankerin', I head to Mcdonalds!

  • Why I Sold My Shares In Altria [View article]
Totally agree with you. I think my cost basis for MO is/was $28.
I'm getting roughly a 7% return on my money. I don't care what
the current yield is. No way I'm selling, unless I want to cash in on
some profit, but I'd rather take the income for now.

  • AT&T: A Much-Needed Pullback [View article]
Think I might add. Don't really care about growth for this one.
as long as they can keep raking in billions, and give me some of
it. I'm ok with it. I'm diversified enough to look for 'growth' elsewhere.
