Hi, I'm a retired electrician, trying to survive this economy. I bought my first IRA in my late 20s, a Fidelity mutual fund.I contributed to it off and on for the next 30 yrs. in a pretty inconsistent casual manner. In 99 I got caught up in the dot com frenzy and saw some exciting growth. My portfolio grew in value by about 200%, only to give it all back when the bubble burst. Now at age 65, trying to live on S S and what little my IRA can generate without erroding the principal, I'm trying to learn all I can about SAFE income producing investments with descent yields and low vulnerability. Thank you all for sharing your knowledge and opinions. bmaxxx
