Rich W. Refreshing. It is easier to be a doomsdayer because if you are wrong, no one cares.

Europe does not make technicals, fundamentals or timing irrelevant. Europe is merely a prism to view technicals, fundamentals or timing through.

I think the word "Rivers" is in error. Can see, though, how "Rivers" could be confused with "Harbors".

  • Two Harbors Investment Corp: Dump, Hold Or Reinvest?  [View article]
In the current market with the downward volatility, it sure is nice to have a sideways movement stock with an ultra high yield. Can't think of any downside today.

  • Bank Of America Sets Troubling Standard  [View article]
Also, I believe the fraudulent foreclosure practices were at the tail end and not the front end. From what I heard, the Bank affidavits filed with Courts to induce the Courts to sell borrowers real estate at the Courthouse steps were fraudulent as to amounts, dates of default, etc. If that is the case, this is an extremely cheap settlement. The liability for fraud in the inducement of foreclosure sales would be staggering.

Thanks for interesting insights. Have owned $TWO for a year long and like the yield as well as the price cushion on the downside.

Excellent article and comments as well. Took note of what John Overton had to say about REIT. This time around, I have a significant position in $TWO as well as several other high yielders. Market action like this does show the benefit of high yield stocks.

Agree with your analysis of Merrill Lynch litigation and potential settlements. Sounds like chicken feed and cheap in lieu of long protracted litigation with trials, etc.

Waldipup, I got out for reasons other than stock. Rotated out of financials at that time. Agree still that it is a great dividend stock.

Agree with fruitfan. The apple operating system appears to be highly addictive. Once tried, the user seems to require increasing amounts of apple devices to access the same operating system.

  • A Constructive Critique Of Dividend Growth Investing  [View article]
I can tell from the comments this caused many to pause and reflect. Focusing on dividend paying stocks reduces the anxiety of equity investing and certainly has a place in any investment portfolio. It has a place in mine. But, each one of us has different needs and styles. Unless we are money managers, we are not being graded or ranked for our investment strategies. For me, at least, I still find the diversified portfolio to be the best; if for no other reason, than it keeps my interest in self directed investing. I have tried to focus on one sub asset class for investing and I find my interest dissipating.

Agree totally with above comment. Was a rather strange Cramer interview. Initially, I thought Cramer was pushed for time, but the above comment has me thinking.
