Also, I believe the fraudulent foreclosure practices were at the tail end and not the front end. From what I heard, the Bank affidavits filed with Courts to induce the Courts to sell borrowers real estate at the Courthouse steps were fraudulent as to amounts, dates of default, etc. If that is the case, this is an extremely cheap settlement. The liability for fraud in the inducement of foreclosure sales would be staggering.
Excellent article and comments as well. Took note of what John Overton had to say about REIT. This time around, I have a significant position in $TWO as well as several other high yielders. Market action like this does show the benefit of high yield stocks.

I can tell from the comments this caused many to pause and reflect. Focusing on dividend paying stocks reduces the anxiety of equity investing and certainly has a place in any investment portfolio. It has a place in mine. But, each one of us has different needs and styles. Unless we are money managers, we are not being graded or ranked for our investment strategies. For me, at least, I still find the diversified portfolio to be the best; if for no other reason, than it keeps my interest in self directed investing. I have tried to focus on one sub asset class for investing and I find my interest dissipating.
