  • The Best Investment Theme Of 2015 And The Myth Of Economic Stagnation  [View article]
Change the graph from "Levels" to "%Chg" to get a more clear picture. Maybe wages are just following the rise in price of things wages are used to pay for?

George - no offense intended. ;) GM did try some slick engineering with that aluminum engine - it just took them a while to get it right. I remember working on those in the mid 80s when in high school working as a Saturday mechanic. Better looking than a Pinto, IMO. They did what they were supposed to do - get you from point A to B while sipping gasoline.
I have this affliction that all cars that I drive need to have a lot of power. See that little blue car in my avatar? 6.7L V8 under that hood 8-D. Grumpy Jenkins (who turned the drag racing world on it's head with his V8 Vega drag car) would probably approve.
Thanks for your articles and book. I thoroughly enjoy them and have learned a great deal.

The only good Vegas were the ones that had Small Block Chevy V8's cobbled into them by us hot rodders! But they would twist under the torque (if you didn't stiffen the chassis). One guy I knew had to do a burnout in reverse after doing one going forward - because otherwise the door wouldn't open!

Thanks for putting some reasons behind your prognostications. I'm still reading, hoping for these pieces of info...

irrelevant? Nonsense. I'm a neophyte. A data point of one. That's my contribution to this discussion.
The S&P is headed to 2500? Where's your reasoning and analysis. Just because you say so? Where's the reasoning behind this argument? Business acumen again? Comments are supposed to add something to the discussion, not just be a place for one to say a market is going this way or that with nothing to back it up.

LT, I've said this before in response to your repeated comment about there being no neophytes on SA. I am one of them. I come here to learn. So, you are definitely wrong. Now if you want to start saying that there are few neophytes, you may be correct, but where's the data on that to be able to say so? Personally, I find your tone to be negative and on top of that you give no information on how you make trading or investing decisions that anyone seems to be able to understand. You talk about business acumen and fuzzy terms, but no specifics, no algorithms, no logic as to how you do your investing. So, along with the negativity, there is no information for me to learn from. For some silly reason, I keep reading your comments in the hopes that you will write something that I can learn from. I guess I'm just stupid and don't understand. No, that's not it, my IQ is considerably above average. So it's either you are willfully not sharing the information needed for someone to understand your methods (while bashing others who do) or there is just a language barrier.

yeti - I suggest YOU read history on Ukraine. You obviously are looking at this from a pro-russian point of view if you make comments like that. I can take nothing you say on the matter seriously now.

If the IRA is a Roth IRA, no taxes paid on dividends if taken out after 59-1/2, at least that's what I gleaned from this: http://bit.ly/1zUMrjy

Patrick, I like the way you are approaching this.
I'm also an engineer and software developer and I deal with a good bit of math in my work as well. I'm very interested in your project, as I think there may be something to your delayed correlation idea.
I've posited to Avi before (never got a response) that sentiment is at least partly a delayed function of weighted fundamentals. And I agree that futures (and options) history, along with other price action must have some weightings in driving sentiment.
    Rock on! Following.

  • Its Time To Short Gold  [View article]
It's been my experience that absolute statements like "...people claim they make money daytrading but the fact is that they do not in reality." are NEVER true. Surely, many daytraders lose money overall, some break even and some have net profits over a year, etc. Some professional day traders might be able to buy a beach house on prime real estate on one year's profits.
Absolutes are generally absolutely always false.

QP - I got on to the webinar and got the video and sound. It was very instructional for me. They said they would send out a link to the recorded video they made of it to all that signed up. I don't know if they will send the registered attendees an email with a link or what. The audio did get a bit garbled for some of it but they backed up and went over that for the audience.

  • GLD: What Will It Take To Resurrect The Gold Bull Market?  [View article]
And if I'm wrong, I'll buy back in a bit higher. I've watched a few EW prophets get it mostly correct over the last several years - far better than I did using fundamentals. So I'm mixing my bad calls with the calls of others.

I hope you and others are correct - I sold 1/3 of my Gold PMs the other day almost near the local top. Hoping I can buy it back much cheaper this year.

I have a gut feeling (no data) that the number is higher than 95% of investors. But I wonder about what really matters - who percentage of the MONEY in somewhat liquid investment vehicles (PM, stocks, etc.) is giving PMs any thought. I have a feeling (no data again) that the percentage is lower than the percentage of investors giving PMs any thought.

  • 2015 Predictions For Gold And Silver  [View article]
Interesting read about Russian "news" and propaganda that some might want to consider before buying into all of this "Nazi" "Kyiv Fascists", US Plots in Ukraine, etc. Putin and his minions always craft this kind of narrative. To believe it means you are likely falling for their game. http://politi.co/1BfCIul
