  • American Realty Capital Properties: High-Yield Play Ready To Narrow Valuation Discount To Peers [View article]
bret tks for comment... as you well know everytime someone is willing to stick neck out in such a vociferous way its likely to chopped off.. in HINDSIGHT these guys at arcp always seemed to be pushing envelope (rapid acquisitons, etc) and I guess the accounting department was eager to be part of it (maybe because they were told to look other way)

captain pike...what's your call now with ship seeming to have hit rocks (admittedly with me on it)

The economic situation is PERFECT for ARCP, the blowhards who thought rates would be rising have been shown to be total morons. Oil is down and will stay down. Inflation is a thing of the past. Perfect storm for the highest yielding Reit and it should do extremely well.

augustus..good analysis..I'm bearish on treasury yields and the leverage on this fund is enormous (47%) will likely take opportunity to sell strength even though charts indicate otherwise

be here now.. thank you for comment.. typically "underfunding" is a combination of factors ranging employer contributions being not made (state of illinois where i live for example) to a period of extremely low rates (like we have now)..but I would beg to differ regarding the period of time between 2008/2009 and now in which equity prices have nearly TRIPLED.. without singling you out and including myself I must comment that use of anecdotes vs actual performance numbers is highly dangerous and non productive endeavor

6228371...my compliments to you on what i believe to be the core of the argument between total return and dgi.. because stock prices are a function earnings and their growth (I think everyone could agree on that) one should seek those companies that offer that .. and because the risk of returns on an individual stock or even a basket of related stocks (i.e. DGI favorites) vs an index of 500 is signficantly greater one would choose the the combination of investing in the index and then allocating a certain percentage to fund future obligations..
