  • Chevron At 5% Dividend Yield - Is It Finally Time To Fill Up The Tank, Or Is The Tank Empty For Good? [View article]
I am long CVX with hope that oil will end its slide and move to reasonable trading range. CVX is a great company, and may be the second best energy company on this planet but for it to be profitable oil has to be higher then $41.

Oil industry is very scary right now. I can only sleep well with XOM as of right now. I am very long XOM, CVX, EPD and BP and also long other oil companies with very small position.

  • Retirement Strategy: The Oil Crash Could Be A Dividend Growth Investor's Best Friend Of The Decade [View article]
Long both XOM and CVX with 500 shares in each. I have no idea where oil price may end up in next 2 years but I do know the fact that oil consumption is going up every year, reserves are going down but supply is going up as well as technologies in oil exploration is evolving.

With better wold in future, more countries get industrialized and more people are consuming energy in emerging market, I am hoping that XOM and CVX will survive, prserv, adopt, invest and do better in future.

  • Exxon Mobil's History Of Dividend 'Freezes' [View article]
Point well taken Eli. I was wrong. Both CVX and XOM have irregular dividend increase history. I was just so disappointed with no dividend increase from CVX. Their CEO said that dividend is their number one priority not so long ago (Even though he never said dividend increase is their priority). I hold stocks in both companies with XOM being higher in weight.

But I will still buy XOM over CVX. I feel more comfortable with XOM diversification in earnings and AAA rating. I can sleep well and know XOM will keep sending dividend checks to me and my kids. I am a bit non-convince with CVX (which is a personal opinion and data may disagree).

  • Is Chevron's 'Frozen' Dividend An Opportunity? [View article]
I always respect and trust on people who come to work ready on time everyday. Those who comes irregularly will disappoint you one day. Same here, stocks like XOM or KO raise their dividend on timely or expected manner while CVX raise the payout but on irregular manner. In short, if you want to own oil stock for dividend growth then don't look at anywhere else then XOM who not only hold AAA rating but it raise its payout on time. You will be happy, sleep well and won't be disappointed one day..

If you buy XOM then you don't have to deal with this. XOM is my largest oil company holdings but I also have CVX position due to its higher dividend payout.

I need help with knowledgeable person here: Any opinion on Kraft deal? I am an owner of Kraft stocks which was giving me $1000 dividend a year. After today’s deal my stock is up like 60% from my purchase. Current Kraft share holder will own 49% of combine company with Heinz and receive $16.5 cash dividend. But I don’t know if new company will issue dividend and how it will impact my dividend situation?
