  • Berkshire Hathaway Stock Portfolio: At Risk of Resembling an Index Fund? [View article]
".... There are the rights-of-way, which you can’t get rid of. So there’s no issue about having to earn a return on them because you have to keep it in the business, and because there’s nothing they can do with those rights-of-way. ..."

VERY short-sighted! Get rid of the rights of way?! There are lot's of things one can do with the rights-of- way BNI owns....limited only by one's imagination.

  • Beware the Buffett Effect: Part II [View article]
Buffet doesn't time the market; he simply "times companies"...i.e. he waits for selected good companies to go on sale. It just so happens that this occurs more in down markets than bad. When good companies go on sale in great markets, he buys too.

  • Here I Go, Criticizing Warren Buffett [View article]
There are so many errors of fact/judgement in this article it's not even worth the effort to go through them. Suffice it to say that by your standards of who can talk about stocks on TV without being unethical, CNBC would be deserted. Anyone watching Warren on CNBC who didn't know about the BRK/GE deal shouldn't be investing in stocks!

    What utter dreck!
