I am italian independent investor and living in Rome.
I have a strong interest in tactical strategies, and have developed quantitative investment methods through rigorous backtesting and numerical analysis.
I have written 2 dutch books on value investing: "Aandelen selecteren als waardebelegger" and "Beleggen in bull- en bearmarkten". See bol.com (search for the titles). As a mathematician (Ph.D.) I am most interested in investment strategies with statistically favorable returns. In particular I invest in net-nets (20-30% average annual returns). I find companies with low Enterprise Value/Earnings before Tax and Interest (EV/EBIT) and strong balance sheets (20% average annual returns) also very interesting. Since such stocks are rare I invest globally. Send me a message with your email address to get example articles of my premium research on Seeking Alpha.
Old Geezer that listened to parents that lived through the Great Depression. Am a USAF veteran and proud grandpa of twelve grandkids. I am trying to learn enough to be a good investor and have met many great and tolerant (I ask a lot of questions) people here on SA.
I am an independent contractor in instructional design & development, organizational performance improvement. Presently a doctoral candidate in instructional systems, investigating performance support systems and mobile learning applications. I'm particularly interested in energy issues: efficiency, storage, security, sustainability, etcetera. In 2009 I completed construction of a LEED-certified residence incorporating SIPS envelope, geothermal HVAC, photovoltaic array, battery bank for backup power. I tend to be an early adopter but try not to be on the bleeding edge of innovation--I've found that being too early to the party can be as painful as being too late.
