I'm an average Joe who does not work in any aspect of finance. I work in medical imaging, but have long held the belief that what we do to make money is not nearly as important was what you do with your money. Anyone who spends that time, effort, and investment can obtain financial security. I started speculating in the stock market in March 2012, with some success and failures. I've gradually been shifting away from speculating to establishing long diversified positions. Presently I'm enamored with dividend growth stocks and anything I can place in a DRIP. I've got more than 20 years before I am expected to retire, but I have lofty aspirations for financial independence in 10.
