If oil goes to $200 soon, ethanol, with all its detractors, will be more efficient to run E-85 because oil will be pricing itself at $6.00-7.00/gallon and ethanol at $4.00, even at $8.00 corn, is a better buy!
Ethanol never was a "be-all end-all" game changer. But I like the notion of 25% of our energy consumption being paid to farmers and others in the US rather than to the Middle East and other rogue nations like Chavez, et al....60% of our trade deficit is now oil!
