  • Molycorp's Shorts Are Getting Cooked [View article]
"My article set off a chain of events that has made shorts' heads spin. "

I don't think you're giving yourself nearly enough credit there...

  • Zacks' Bear Of The Day: Groupon [View article]
Thanks for the update on that. I feel bad for those guys buying at +15% after hours.

I'm really not sure who would buy out groupon though. All they'd have to do is offer a superior product due to the lack of barrier to entry.

I'm considering getting in though but $8 isn't really that low if you look over the year.

  • Betting Big On BlackBerry [View article]
There's so many of these comments from guys who love their Z whatever. I hear they're great phones from everyone who owns one and swears by it. The problem is that it doesn't matter. These guys make money from selling phones not by making great phones that nobody cares to own. I'm not long or short and I see definite opportunities to make money with BBRY, I just don't have the guts to play it.

The only point I want to make is that you guys can be causing your own problems by correlating your love for your Blackberry to the company succeeding and stock price going up.

  • Major hurdle for IMAX in China [View news story]
I'm Chinese and when I went there they just tried to rip me off everywhere I went. When I went to the stores I realized everything was a knockoff. They spend more effort trying to steal than actually use ingenuity. My mom told me if you came to China to print a calendar, before they delivered it to you, it'd be all over the market.

Sadly, IMAX seemed to have made a big mistake here going in to China and then getting their technology stolen, by a cinema company run by the government. Good luck with that lawsuit.

I had a really good run with IMAX, from 20 to 27. I've been waiting for it to come back down but I'm not so sure this is the kind of news I want the price to be dropping from.

  • Molycorp: A Top $5 Stock Pick For A 'January Effect' And Short-Covering Rally [View article]
I dug in a bit too deep in MCP at 7 bux and I totally agree with you. The worst part is that averaging down means I've invested more and more in this risky stock. Let it end!

This is going to be risky but I'm ready to short these guys. Actually the only risk is the takeover.

Sadly I bought them at 2.00 then sold at about 3.

I agree with your post. We commented but no more. I didn't even read the article because it just seemed pretty senseless. Like why not write an article that says don't randomly cross a busy intersection with your eyes closed.

  • 7 Reasons Why Groupon Is A Buy [View article]
I read your summary and was absolutely not convinced unfortunately. The worst argument was that it's at a 30% discount. We should all jump on TSLA then shouldn't we?

Also the first comment was very valid, there's always a hitch and rarely do they deliver. That will turn people off except those that really love deals.

i have a question though, why would anyone buy into the latest offering at $5 if this wouldn't pay out over time? Are those guys suckers too?

  • Commodities Today: Are These Stocks Buys At Lows? [View article]
I've been bogged down with MCP since earnings in May. I should have sold when it got back up to 8 dollars but didn't.

Absolutely correct if you look at the chart, buying on dips is just been a huge fail. I'm still holding on but I'm worried it'll end up like my SVNT investment...

my thoughts exactly, what's even the point of this. Hindsight is always 20/20.

I'm getting close to the point of buying in. I wish I shorted at 195 though.

  • Herbalife Earnings And Stock Price Bolster CEO Johnson [View article]
I can't believe I wasted time reading these comments. This is the stock market. Everyone saying it can't be a pyramid scheme because they've operated for a long time, Icahn has invested and it hasn't been proven, are idiots. I'm not say it is or it isn't but it doesn't matter because it's the stock market and people use it to try and make money.

It's the same fallacy as people trading based on fundamentals in the short term. The only thing that matters is sentiment.

  • I Concede Defeat In [View article]
So how much did you lose? Have you sold? I read your previous articles at previous earnings and added them to my watch list to short, along with other stocks like Netflix, Tesla, Yelp and Linkedin. Fortunately I never moved on any of them.

I think your article was interesting. First of all, stocks are about making money not about being right and wrong, and even in saying you were wrong, your article basically is written to say you were right but you still lost. Even worse, one recurring theme is that you are implying you're too smart and that's why you lost. If stocks are about making money, not only did you lose but you were also wrong, despite what you may think. This article is more about your ego than anything else.

Your biggest mistake is thinking that stock prices are always based on fundamentals. They may be but what is the time frame? That's where the guessing game is. I have no idea how the stocks I listed previously keep going up, it can't be based on fundamentals, surely it will come crashing down, but the question is when. If stock prices were based on fundamentals, these stocks wouldn't even reach these insane prices to start with.

Anyways, I'm in the hole big time too since I started trading at a bad time, with no experiences (late 2010). We just need a few good trades and all will be forgotten. Best of luck.

  • J.C. Penney And The Shorts: What To Look For In The Turn [View article]
LOL saying "the good thing about doubling down". The fact that you have to double down is bad since you only call it that after losing enough money that you call it doubling down.

I thought about buying after the last dip. This market is crazy, tons of stocks are up a lot and tons are down a lot. What happened with netflix after earnings was just scary...
