  • How Income Redistribution Could Help Stabilize The Economy [View article]
Wrong.....people will never go along with giving there hard work away to someone else.

You will always need force if you want to control people to that extent.

Funny how no other species on this planet that I know of acts like your suggesting. Species survive on this planet because of survival of the fittest. That is how nature works. We were all put here on this planet....humans, animals, etc.... Ultimately we all have 1 goal, and that is to survive and reproduce. Trying to prop up the weakest among us with welfare at the expense of the "fittest" is a losing battle. It goes against the laws of nature.

Quit trying to make some perfect utopia where everyone is happy. It is not going to happen. The poor in this country need to pull themselves up. Is it possible for all of them? Of course not, there is always going to be suffering, but it will teach them to cold truth about life....you cannot depend on anyone, you ARE alone, and if you don't have the skills to make it out of poverty, at least make sure your children get an education so they can have a better life than you have.

I am in 100% agreement. People put too much of this off on the system and not enough onto the people themselves.

99% of the people I know in life are in the bottom 50% of income earners. None of them make ANY extra effort to get further than they have. All they care about is today.

The problem is, everyone in this country that is unemployed that was previously in the 30k/year range are just as happy to not work and live on even more meager government handouts. There is no such thing as a disincentive for these folks when it comes to getting a free ride, trust me, I live in Southern Oregon so I am very familiar with these type of people. The only disincentive is to make them sink or swim on their own.
