or....the gov. could mandate a minimum amount of equity a pe firm puts in if they buy a bank. Oh, wait.....I guess if they did that then you wouldn't have an article to write about for your shameless self-promotion and I wouldn't have to point out the obvious to you via this comment. if you don't have any insight into anything you should probably stay away from writing because your self-promotion becomes that much more obvious.
"There has to be an applicable symmetry to your investment process, otherwise you are deluding yourself that you can pick "winners", if you can't pick relative "losers" as well." This is one part but you must consider the payoffs as well: shorting gives you a maximum gain of 100% and maximum loss of unlimited, with a long position being the reverse. Given the payoffs, it actually makes more sense to focus on being long.

It's pretty annoying, actually. A quicker way to find stuff in a conference call is "ctrl+F". Actually, the way now present conference call transcripts is even worse. Instead of listing the entire call on one page you have to click through 10+ pages now. Did you do that in order to get more advertisers (i.e. you can list a separate advertiser on each page) or are you just trying to piss off your customer base?
only people who post anonymously dare bash others....get the irony? why would you buy something w/ such a huge premium to the NAV. You don't make sense.
