    • Blockbuster: Can We Close The Stores Yet? [view article]
I think it's more like 8000 stores. They are closing them as fast as they can, but that'll take a long time, and their ONLY competitive advantage right now is that they offer exchanges at stores in its all you can eat online plan. The company is hemorrhaging cash at a time when debt is NOT a good thing, while Netflix has no debt and $300M+ in its kitty.

The imminent demise of Movie Gallery should be good for both companies, however, and the possible end of the price wars early next year.

    • Northrop Grumman, iRobot, AeroVironment: Three Defense Stocks To Watch [view article]
iRobot does not make the SWORDS robot. SWORDS is part of the Talon robot family built by it's competitor, Foster-Miller.

iRobot makes the PackBot, which is primarily for bomb disposal but has been expanded to look at other missions, including bomb sniffing, sniper detection, and more. The company has a larger robot coming out next year, the 250-pound iRobot Warrior, which can be fitted with guns and missiles, and a smaller robot, the 25-pound SUGV, which is part of the Future Combat Systems. A partnership with Boeing will bring a variant of the SUGV to market next year.
