Sorry I can't agree with you. My father taught me at a young age that you do not have luck, you make your luck.
As for the stock market, all I did was my do my own research and apply the knowledge I gained in the business world. Also made it a habit to delete all the "hot tips" posted by the stock market gurus.
Just a kid from Brooklyn, N.Y. who has profited by outliving all the "yeasayers" and "naysayers".
My advice to neophyte market players is to never enter the market with the idea of getting rich. Enter the market with the idea that you can afford to lose.

I will certainly take your positive comments under advisement when I visit with my psychiatrist next Tuesday.
My comments on RSH are not about a "miraculous" turnaround but about making a plan to survive. As it stands now the only plan they they have is doing "nothing" and let the hammer drop.
Please give me your "skinny" on what can be done to save our already bankrupt country that is "crumbling and cannot be repaired".
I personally am learning to speak Chinese.

    I offer the following:
Whenever you have a problem that you cannot find a solution too.
    There is only one option.
    TRY HARDER !
    Stay well my friend.

Wrong Doc. I am a noble person. Just a high school graduate
who knows nothing about the stock market. But knows the
    automobile of the century.
Bought 2 Tesla 2012 85's loaded after much research before auto was in production.
Paid for mine with stock profit.
    Wife did not want hers.
Sold it for a $13,000 profit.

Just in time to redesign 100 to 200 of their stores for holiday sales and a new direction.
Using the same successful format of Best Buy and Apple by redesigning those new stores in the "touchy feely" customer friendly atmosphere has to be better than anything they currently have on the board.
Take a walk through any of their current stores that are sorely lacking in customers and you can imagine the new new look will have on bringing old and new RSH customers to the cash registers
Don't forget to employ new sales technicians with the knowledge, experience and ability to make this project a success.
    Just do it RSH!

    Re: Captainmuggles

Wipe the cobwebs from your eyes and see things how they really are.
I opened my first business when I was 19. I have worked 6 and 7 days
a week because I love the excitement of getting up each day and taking
on the challenge to be successful.
I did not go to college and learned everything I know "hands on" whether it be success or failure.
At age 81 I am still totally involved in my business because as you say "that was then and now is now". I have no choice but to do deal in the
realities of the way business' are being run (or ruined) today.
I do not consider my self "rich", but wealthy in the knowledge I have gained.
It is from this reservoir of being able to separate what has worked in the
past and re-inventing it so it works in the future that keeps me going.
I believe that if you have a difficult problem that you cannot solve the only
option you have is to "work harder". Keep the doors of your brain open so that when opportunity shows up, it can come right in.
The most important lesson I learned fifty years ago was that "wealth does not equate with knowledge".
It is not "copying" others success but using it as a foundation to build on.

When I placed my order for two Tesla 85 sedans in 2012, I was told they would go bankrupt and I would lose my deposits. I also bought the stock at $20 and was told it was a bad choice. When my Tesla's arrived I sold off some of my stock at ($94) and paid them off in full. The stock today is $280 and I am still being told that Tesla will go bankrupt. Please do not call it luck because the harder I work the luckier I get. If I lost it all, I would still be wealthy in knowledge.

I would certainly give them credit for being incompetent, inept and ready for firing
executive under achievers who are being allowed to lead a potential comeback star of the year into the deep six.
I will not sully Donald Trumps trademark "you're fired" by using "you're dismissed"
    instead.

That is exactly why successful businesses follow the mantra to reinvent
    themselves every five years.
RSH is way overdue but can still pull a rabbit out of hat if they get off their
    butts and get moving.
I would be glad to do it for them but there is a misconception that all great ideas must flow from the top down.
As one out of a job executive once told me. A corporation is like a big fat cow and you keep sucking at their teats until they run dry. Then move on to the next cow.
