  • Follow Buffett Out Of Exxon Mobil? Not A Chance  [View article]
Mr. Buffett is a billionaire. I am not. XOM is still a solid investment for us small potato investors. As a third generation XOM holder, I think that it has served every generation quite well.

  • Oil Supply Accelerating - Saudi Arabia Delivering On Its Promise?  [View article]
The Saudi's will not survive if Iran dominates the Middle East. The Saudi's and Iranians are, in fact, mortal enemies. Currently, the Iranian sphere of influence dominates increasingly large geographic portions of the middle east (read ISIL, Al Qaeda and numerous other similar groups who are known to be strongly allied to Iran). It was estimated today that Iran is maybe two months away from making a nuclear bomb and they have taken delivery of several ICBM's. God only knows how soon what they have will be functional. This is not about punishing shale producers. It is not about 'green energy'. This is much more primitive. It is about survival. Think about what happens next.

  • Chevron/Exxon Earnings Preview: 2015 Revisions Are Shocking  [View article]
Take a deep breath, folks. Oil is a commodity and it goes up and down in price. Every investor has to take risk as they can tolerate. Frankly, I have a box car full of XOM & CVX acquired over decades of scraping, holding, buying on dips. The fire/panic sales in December provided me with what I believe is an epic gift of an investment opportunity. No regrets as I am a patient, long term investor. I will remark about yet another article mentioning some inconsistency. Looking at the broader picture, things do not add up and have not for quite some time. The myriad of explanations just do not answer the questions. This particular situation has anomaly written all over it, particularly if you factor in some very serious geopolitical issues. Think about what you are seeing.

  • Analyst: If EOG is the new Saudi Arabia of global oil, Devon Energy is Kuwait  [View news story]
Excellent comment. I would venture to take it a bit further---Russia and Venezuela are in a world of hurt. There are some smaller African countries that are also collateral damage. Saudi's have some definite things in mind. BTW, last I heard, even with out 'glut' stateside, we are still importing 7 million barrels per day of oil. There are some things that do not add up in this entire scenario.

  • The Crash In Oil Prices Raises Questions And Opportunities For A Lifetime  [View article]
I am most disturbed by this article. Someone else figured it out---RS. I heartily concur with your premise that things do not add up and there is more to this story that you did not touch. That said, it seems that wealth is made by opportunity, and this is probably the best present ever for a patient investor for certain oil sector stocks. What was that common investment tip by those who made kazillions? Oh, yeah. Buy the out of favor, charred, burned, left for dead, and out of favor things.

Long XOM, CVX and a really long list of other solids with a few pet specs, only American. Tip of the day---- Never, ever bet against XOM, the Saudi's or the American people (not referencing the current government).

  • Oil & Gas Stocks: Pain, Then More Pain... When Is The Gain?  [View article]
Great article----time for my Christmas list, Part Deux. What I see and hear is a stampede for the door and the shorts have a great time. I'm shopping for bargains. The manner that this article is written in helps me pick them off faster.
    What a great opportunity!

  • Linn Energy Suffers Another Blow  [View article]
Not an expert, but I see nothing out there that really explains this savage drop in world oil prices except certain geopolitical skullduggery. Yep. We all know it is a commodity of its own type and there is an ebb and flow.

This article seems one of conjecture and emotion. Or in translation, I can't cover my massive shorts if there is a bounce of any kind.

As for me, I will sit tight on what I have, but it is clearly time for more shopping. After all, it is Christmas.

  • The 'Immense Opportunity' Is Not In Exxon, It's In Small-Cap Oil Stocks  [View article]
Excellent article. Frankly, I do not see XOM or CVX as bargains at the current prices either, but then I went in with a great big chunk of each in 2004. So, mopping up on fire sale bargains is exactly the best choice, especially a limited commodity via a decent company. The pendulum is always swinging.
Long CVX, XOM, LNCO, a bunch of others and now, MDR & AXAS. Have either more than doubled or tripled money or take back so much in dividends, that I just think that a price dip is a radar blip of little significance other than to add to the pile. Besides, all of the stocks in my list are hedged to the teeth way out in time.

Also added OKE, today. Just too cheap to not nibble at....

    Merry Christmas, indeed!
