  • Continue To Avoid Linn Energy [View article]
Have been LNCO since the IPO and have added several times. Cry all the way to the bank on a regular basis. The bottom line is profit for the investors. Read many articles on both sides. Not impressed with this one and agree with other posters in that I smell a short.

  • Linn Energy: I Am Never, Ever, Going To Listen To The Bears [View article]
Some of us do read both sides and look at the facts. The LINN/LNCO bashing provided a couple of prime opportunities to add this magnificent producer (NASDAQ:LNCO) to two IRA's and another portfolio. Have cried all the way to the bank on a regular basis. Have never had another investment that delivered this type of consistent value with a dirt cheap stock price. Also agree with other comments that the stock price will rise adding even more value. As with all investments, that is good until it isn't.

Also have enjoyed owning HFC for many of the same reasons.

    Thank you for the article.

  • Embrace The Headwinds For HollyFrontier [View article]
Absolutely. We have it in both IRA's and assorted vanilla accounts. The Brent/WTI spread waxes and wanes. Translation---really good to spectacular dividends and bonus payouts. Since my husband and I are of different ages, the mandatory draw down on his account is offset by the dividend and bonus monies going into the other accounts. So, the totals keep climbing. Cry all the way to the bank. Good to pair with LNCO.

Of note, stay tuned to growing wars in the Middle East, Russia/Ukraine, North Africa and a bunch of other hot spots.

All investments in all accounts are monitored daily.

  • Fighting In Iraq: No Effect On Exxon Mobil Production [View article]
There are a couple of issues. 1) Kurdistan oil has arrived at the port in Texas, but Iraq claims that it is stolen. Right now, it is a very hot political potato. So, forget that oil until it is resolved. They can bring all they want out, but not so great if they cannot sell it. 2) Iraq is very shaky at best and essentially broken. ISIS?ISIL is in Baghdad as we read this. 3) ISIL/ISIS or terrorists du jour, have made it clear that they intend to go further south. As crazy as we might think it sounds, they intend to take Mecca. Their solution for foreigners and non-ISIS/ISIL members is to kill them all. Hope that XOM stays away.

  • Linn Energy: Intriguing 5-Year Investment If You Want Lots Of Income [View article]
Long LNCO and have backed up the truck on dips multiple times for two IRA's. Routinely cry all the way to the bank. No tax issues; no K-1. Monitor all investments frequently. Coal industry is going for the last rites. World is a mess and things look only to get worse in the ME (likely much, much worse). God bless oil, gas and LNCO!

  • New research links surge in Oklahoma earthquakes to drilling activity [View news story]
Very weak article. "Probably" doesn't cut it. Fracking and well disposal has been going on for 70+ years. OK has a history of quake swarms. What is with this seriously disingenuous statement, "The researchers also calculated that four of the highest-volume wells in Oklahoma are capable of triggering ~20% of recent central U.S. quakes, and found that such induced quakes could potentially occur more than 30 km from the well"? So....what about the other 80%????? [Sound of crickets...] Frankly, I'd love to sue the bejesus out of some company for the damage to my home and stress caused when my bed starts dancing in the middle of the night, etc, etc, etc. But, cannot prove that it is related. Oh, BTW, no one except the tinfoil hat crowd, and there are very few here, believe anything from such a place as Cornell. Most here see this sort of 'research' as another attempt at liberal manipulation to make current energy sources highly controlled and taxed. AKA, if you tell a lie enough times, it becomes the truth. I call BS. Oh yeah, with a view towards full disclosure, long too many oil and gas stocks to list.

  • Linn Energy: Where Are The Naysayers Now? [View article]
Was very surprised when the great guru, Cramer and others, denigrated LNCO. What? Can this be true? Sat with tears of joy in my eyes and watched the stock price fall. Backed up the truck several times on lows. Still crying---all the way to the bank.
I will read the articles, both pro and con. As with anyone else, I do my own research with a view of others who may hold long or short positions. Have seen that one. It is simple---does the stock deliver? LNCO does. The price rises as others figure it out.

Thank you, Bret, for another fine article.

  • HollyFrontier -1.7% after Credit Suisse downgrade [View news story]
Talking heads, no foundation. Agree with every poster above.

Every body who thinks that the price of oil is going down, raise your hands....

Back up the truck yet again, and continue to cry all the way to the bank.

  • Pinnacle Foods boosted by upgrade [View news story]
Long at the IPO---seems to be a solid growth stock with dividend. Virtually everybody buys their products. Thought that I would cruise in for more on a dip, but....has not had a significant one. What is not to love?
